Update: Epic complete! A few tight scares but nothing too serious. A bit nervous about Legendary, though. I’ve topped out gear-wise so now all the enemies will be catching up. Previously the combo of Life Drain and Marksmanship proccing the Nidbow spec was enough to shred groups before I’d take too much damage but I don’t think I can take that risk on Legendary - am going to have to go much, much slower this time. Ahhh unlucky Khaan. Yeah patience is the key with Xmax, can't risk being too eager and getting mobbed at the start, gotta take it slow while you get your key skills. Update: finished Epic Acts II and III. Typhon was... a real challenge. Had to kite him at the edge of the arena, just running back and forth. Could not risk a stacked health drain or meteor attack. But... Visennia survives. Onto the DLCs (tomorrow, need a break from the stress of hardcore after kiting Typhon for 15 mins aha  )! Update: Act I Epic complete! Ran into Toxeus three bloody times, killed him twice, second time had to avoid him because he spawned in a random monster camp in the Athenian catacombs - my computer started to lag with all the enemies in the room, and I was not risking my run to fight a laggy Toxeus! Normal complete! A couple of close calls in the final acts, one of them I anticipated (Loki x5 triggered Death Ward), one of them caught me completely by surprise: the lightning rod things the Tritones General deploys!! 5 of them together nearly one shot me, Death Ward yet again coming in clutch. Update: Through the Immortal Throne and into Act V now. Hades was actually a breeze, but I of course had to go through a couple of Dactyls to get to him. They actually were fairly painless - i'm running a Caster build with max CDR so could essentially stun-lock them with Soul Drain. The most dangerous thing I found in Act 4 was the Fury/Keres random camps, as they spawn tonnes of Ancient Matriarchs which stack their % reduction to health shrieks. Still Theurgist only - defs gonna go for the Specialist achievement, and then in Epic will open the second mastery (either Bone Charmer, Spellbinder, Diviner or Spiritualist - still not sure), as otherwise i'll run out of options for perk points by Act II  . Haven't done Atlantis yet - will probs get to Glauberg and then go back to it as I don't want to get too overlevelled for it. Yeah a lot has changed since the last version I played. There's this new like random event mechanic where a little camp spawns of some random mob type, and there's like a million enemies and at least 3 heroes in there. Had a few Tigerman ones where Jun Shan and Miao Miao hard aggro'd me, nervous times. Thankfully Soul Drain cheese is alive and well  Here is a rushed album, includes stat sheet and a hastily grabbed pic of the five Typhon orbs: https://imgur.com/a/zaQn7t9Level 40 now, in Rhodes. Still a plain Theurgist. Probs will go Bone Charmer as I'm really liking the endgame look of a Transmutation bow wielder, but not sure yet Good luck in your challenge, Medea!

Coming in a bit early but I just killed Xmax Barmanu and hands are shaking lol.
Got a new PC (finally!) so I’m done with mobile. Saw a sale for the TQ bundle and had to grab it, and immediately started a new Theurgist on Xmax. Time to compete with the big boys and girls!

Hi all Tempted back to the game (yet again) by a juicy Steam sale, so am finally playing on PC and playing with Eternal Embers. Want to try out a Spiritualist (of course, still ever reliant on Spirit as a crutch and the mastery guide ain't gonna update itself) but have a few questions: 1) is there a general review of Neidan as a skill since it's been updated? Can people who have used it a bit give me a quick rundown of pros/cons? 2) Any advice for Spiritualists in general? I have all the DLC. 3) What's the recommended base attribute allocation for Int casters again? I think I recalled it as 3 Int / 1 Dex with the odd one sprinkled into Health if needed. Is this correct? Thanks in advance

Haha yeah it’s really annoying, gonna have nightmares about forgetting rebirth fountains now lol.
I’m more frustrated about the self-found thing - I really wanted to get one self-found char over the line, just to say that I could, but I really, really don’t want to redo all the hours I spent at Arachne/Dark Spirit Conduit/Sandqueen Masika. I want to try to up the ante as I feel that with 3 characters clearing the challenge I’ve proven I can beat the game twinked now, but I just don’t want to repeat the hours I’d already spent grinding. We’ll see.
Plus i’m convinced now that Nature is a curse for me - every time I make a Nature deathless it dies lmao. The petmancer approach just felt terrible, think I was making myself too weak to try to buff the wolves and needed to focus more on survivability

And just like that the challenge comes to an end  and in the stupidest way too. In the Tower of Judgment, I kill Cerberus and make it to Elysium. Easy. Start talking to my partner and put the phone down before tapping the rebirth fountain, and the game logs out. Fine, I’ll just kill Cerberus again, no big deal. Nope. An inch of my toe was touching the floor poison cracks and I got melted. RIP Vaylon. First death in several days worth of TQ but hell it stings. Gonna need to take a break as I really can’t face Helos again right now haha

Ended up breezing through Act III as I didn't need to farm anything. The enemies are definitely starting to catch up to the Act II levelling - Typhon was just a kite-job and most of the Atlantis bosses have been too. Did my usual - get to Styx, turn to Atlantis. Vaylon crushes Act II! I did a tonne of farming here, firstly on the Dark Spirit Conduit for XP, then Sandqueen Masika for a formula I need down the line for the Talisman of the Jade Emperor artefact (Song of the Serpent). The formula took a long time to drop, so I’m pretty overlevelled right now. Need to do some gear shopping when I reach Chang’an for better gear, as I’m still running a Totemic staff. But thankfully all the farming I needed to do on Normal is done now, so I can take my time and enjoy the rest of the difficulty farming-free.
