Me and my friend had the same issue. When we played via internet we had ping >1000. So we tried to host with LAN. We used tailscale and Zerotier to be in the same network. Nothing worked, which means we were not able to see the other one hosting a game. Other games such as Minecraft worked. We then tried Radmin. This worked out on the first try. Thank you.
