Nature IT / Re: What's the easiest way to get the third wolf?
« on: 05 November 2017, 13:10:56 »
Stonebinder's Cuffs is one way to do it, but if playing a pure Petmancer/Caster you might not want to bother with adding strength to meet their requirements.  But it's quite easy to find Wanderer's/Druid's items: jewellery and staves.  Wanderer's gives you +1 to all Nature, Druid's gives you +2 to all Nature.

Hi Kaleg Nar, good to see you've found us.  Still getting organised as you can see, but we'll get there.  :)  Deciding on the forum layout at the moment and then we can start rebuilding.

General Discussion / Re: Which Mastery is your favourite?
« on: 04 November 2017, 14:48:54 »
in TQAE, rogue.. but any combination can work

PS: I'm actually confused why it's named TQIT masteries instead of TQAE in the masteries section.. i was actually tempted to write something about rogue there but seeing it's named TQIT, then i have no place there :]

botebote77, we're still getting the forum layout finalised, but the general plan is to eventually have 2 separate sections - one for TQIT and one for TQAE - both of which will have their own masteries section since builds/guides will be different depending on which version people are playing.

I'm a bit like sauruz, not sure I have just one favourite out of the masteries.  I enjoy Nature and Storm and Defense mostly, but Hunting is close behind since I like ranged toons.

Thanks sauruz.  Is anyone getting e-mail notifications when a new reply is posted?  Because I'm still not.  Can't think it's at my end since I get notifications for other forums I belong to.

Yes, mods do need to include the older ones and also the Fanpatch and spectre's patch.  I know most people have switched over to AE, but not everyone.  Some prefer the old game - I know defboy99 said he didn't like the AE so was sticking to his disc version for the time being and there was another member over on TQ.net who also didn't want to change.  Same for tools: we need the old TQDefiler, TQVault, TitanCalc, etc, if we can get them since some players will still be using them.

As for challenges I think it would be better if that's just a separate section since they can be played in either version.  Having them separate like this means having to update two leaderboards whereas under the old system we simply put (AE) against a toon using that version of the game and any which didn't have that were obviously using the disc version.  It also makes it easier for challengers to see how everyone is doing, rather than having to check two sections of the forum.

efko/nargil66, try www.imgur.com.  That works for posting pics here.  I started using it when I couldn't attach jgps as I used to over at TQ.net.

Hi Meez, welcome aboard.  Yes, I'm pretty sure there'll be sections for mods and tools/utilities once we decide on the layout.  As for achived material, in this GD thread

http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38608

a lot of people were gathering stuff so hopefully we can persuade them to join us here and post what they have.  grinninglich's kirmiziperfect.com website also has a lot of the mods for both TIQT and TQAE.

Btw has anyone posted the new forums' links over on Steam and GOG?  We don't want to just be a cliche of old chums who enjoy the game, but a thriving, vibrant community of fellow players and we'll only get that if we attract new members.

i posted on steam , on Legion of champions mod discuss

Hi guys, Croc is here!

Hello and welcome Croc :D

Sauruz can you also post on the main TQAE discussion?  I can't as I don't have access to that.

I've posted a thread on GOG re the new forums so that side is done.

Hi nargil66 and Croc, good to see you here.  Hopefully defboy99 will be joining us soon too.

I didn't have a close look when I was searching for archived material, but there did seem to be a few builds archived so we could probably retrieve them if we wanted.  And a lot of people were checking/collecting stuff when the site first went down last year so we can reach out to them for material as well.

I think for builds we either need separate sections for TQIT and TQAE or build titles must make it clear which version they're for.  I know not many people are probably playing TQIT, but there are still some who either cant' or won't switch over for whatever reason and they'll want to see or post builds too hopefully.  Plus people might want to try older builds in the AE version to see if/how they work out.

Yeah, could probably do the same with Gameplay and Skills and Strategies.  Not quite sure why there were two different sections for essentially the same thing.  Gameplay had: Gameplay, Challenges and Stories (fan fiction) iirc.  Skills and Strategies had some build stuff like Irma2's Build Compendium as stickies and some gaming tips, but otherwise the threads in there could just as easily go under Gameplay iirc.

Hey Prosoro, Benitot and Cygi, good to see you here.  Prosoro had you been on the TQ.net forum recently?  Or the Grim Dawn TQ.net site thread?  I pulled most of the names from that thread and only those who I remembered as being on TQ.net fairly regularly in the last few months.  So apologies if you were and I missed you.

efko, I'll try and come up with a basic list of how the forum was laid out.  Don't think I have any screenshots of it, but I'll check.

Edit: efko, found these archived.  https://archive.is/7aR9p, https://archive.is/x9WbF

I see what you're getting at re the forums.  My concern is that both are hosted or use byethehost11.com so if that goes then both forums would be lost.  It may be that grinninglich is just using the same layout from them for his forum and it wouldn't matter - not up on this technical stuff.

As far as I can see unnotify is already supposed to be working, but I'm getting no notifications.  I get this message when I click on unnotify at the bottom of this thread.

No problem with a better layout if you have ideas for them.

One thing though - not getting any e-mail notifications when new posts are added.  Think I've got it set up in my account so I should get them, but nothing so far.  I just popped in on the off chance to see what was going on.

Another thought.  Do we really need two forums?  Especially if they're on the same host?  If the host goes, then both forums would go.

How many sections can you divide this forum into?  I'm thinking of the old site with Gameplay, Modding, Off Topic, etc, divisions.  I think something similar would be good - but we need to also consider having 2 of some of the sections: one for the old disc version of the game and one for the AE version.  Or else people posting will need to clearly label things like build guides/mods as which they're suitable for.

No idea.  When I tried to log in before I'd already changed my browser from IE10 to Firefox.  Wouldn't let me type anything in the login window and wouldn't let me login using the login button on the top right either.  Weird.
