Title: New Ragnarok Items Showcase (spoilers)
Post by: Prosoro on 15 December 2017, 14:13:37

Hey, so am curious to see the new loot people have been discovering since the new expansion arrived  :D

To start things off, here are some recent weapons that I've pried from the still warm claws of various monsters! (..and chests too ofc)

sauruz, you need to put the image back into Imgur and repaste it here.  Unfortunately with that programme you have to keep the images otherwise they vanish from all your postings.  I had the same when I deleted a few from Imgur on the TQ.net website.

Goddamn that Gorgon's Edge... Lethal Deathweaver's Legtip, which has been the highest poison-based damage weapon, since forever has finally been replaced by a landslide.

It has twice the minimum base Poison Damage, thrice the maximum base damage, a built-in RR (%), a built in CC, and +attack speed %. Jesus...  expansions... sigh...

@Prosoro : where was this dropped? Going to farm this ASAP.

Interesting sauruz.  I would have hoped throwing items would have a higher damage possibility by Act 3 though.  :( The throwing items in Act 1 are pretty much the same values.

gasconron, I guess either Epic or Legendary Pythian Caves or the MinoLab.  Only places Gorgons hang out really.  Maybe Athens.

This is the Hoi Polloi.

See what I mean sauruz..  I got this as a drop before reaching the Halcyon Coast.

Yeah I definitely need that Gorgon's Edge for my Poison toon I'm playing. I wish I knew what item level it is. How is it obtained? Do the Gorgon's drop it, or just a random drop in the world?

@Prosoro : where was this dropped? Going to farm this ASAP.

Ikr, the base poison on the Gorgon's Edge is off the charts! Couldn't believe the stats when I saw them  ;D
To answer your question gasconron, one of my favorite farming runs is that single tomb in the Desert Wastes outside of Memphis. I have found it very lucrative with sarcophagus drops plus there's always a hero that spawns in there with a majestic chest most of the time. The Gorgon's Edge dropped in there. Of course that's the first part of the run, then I head on over to the Sandqueen boss and last night I found a SECOND one - believe it or not from a lowly bone pile in the same area ;)

So to sum up..  I'm in Legendary btw and it seems act2 is the place to farm for it.  Furthermore, there were no gorgons in sight lol

Post by: gasconron on 18 December 2017, 10:44:44
So both instances are on chest drops... we're talking about a lot of RNG involved there. It's not even on a specific monster or boss type.
But that's a start I guess, better than nothing. Also good to hear that it's in Act 2; I was gonna commit suicide if it was in Act 5.
Farming in the new content is a pain. As for me I've had very little luck in terms of Uniques, just mostly MI's from the new Act. Will share some screens later on.

so now that efko and medea taught me how to post images (lol), i can finally share some of my loots.. i dont actually farm anymore but i play a lot of characters so i still got a few

this one i like for my mage haruspex:

yummy.. i gave this to my nephew
(https://i.imgur.com/M61XsUe.jpg)

this one might be good except for the low armor.. the raven summon proc is only chance based and it's also weak:

for the MIs i used TQvault to see the affixes

the reckless offense is a lie.. or a bug.. it doesnt work
(https://i.imgur.com/fvJtcjl.png)

this one is easy to find but it's so weird it's worth posting here
(https://i.imgur.com/oFD1FEQ.jpg)
what made this even weirder is the unknown abilities, i tested it and the ring seems to heal me but after some hits, it seems the monsters attack gets amplified.. but i'm not sure as i've only tested it once.. too dangerous

This dropped while fighting maenads in Parnassus:

+20 Base attack speed means instant 200% AS. Pretty neat.

Very cool items in this thread!

I found this staff the other day.

I did some testing with it the other day, and noticed that either:

A. The Spriggling summon has an EXTREME low probability of spawning upon attack

or

B. It's bugged

I ran up and down the coast of Rhodes attacking mobs and only saw the Spriggling spawn once.

*edit* Also note the absurd Intelligence requirement for a level 8 item! What is up with that?

isn't thrown weapons AS capped at 141%? i imagine it can go beyond 141 with +20 base attack but all the way to 200? you might want to check, maybe it's another Homados bug

Yeah, they maybe meant to make it +20% AS... That's the first weapon with a bonus to base AS i see.

Posted something about Jaguar Claws on Steam forums, but got no answer. I suppose 208% is the maximum AS you can have with throwing (well, I don't know in which file the limit is set)

Damn, I'm seeing more and more sexy Ragnarok Epics/Legendaries, solves a lot of my optimization problems on certain builds.

Now, I just have to wait patiently for a drop mod for Ragnarok or for Defiler mods to be updated for AE:R and it's golden...

this is blue item? it's good enough to be purple.. the only downside is it's  2 handed

Found this... Wow, I suddenly want to make a rogue (with an appropriate secondary mastery that is not hunting) to buff piercing damage to the hell and back and rain these things on everyone. Too bad that the low attack speed cap of dual-wielded thrown weapons nerfs this to oblivion, and it'd look really dumb with a shield. Oh well, I'll figure something out.

so i decided to read boruto and while it isn't that good (for me), i liked one line that boruto said.. something like:

"if you really want something, no matter how hard it is, you have to get it with your own strength. that's what makes it worth it"

of course i had to relate that to farming.. all these cool items, the fact that we got these the legit way just makes it all the more cooler  ;)

question to people

regarding that jagged silk firebrand just posted, looking at tq-db.net, it says the granted skill volley is lvl 5 with 14% chance to proc.. if you have hunting and you have volley at ultimate max (20% chance), do you now have 34% chance to proc (20+14)? or just the higher lvl (20%)?

i don't have it yet so i can't test

@Firebrand have you tested this? a good way to test this is probably shoot like 50x without volley, count the number of volley procs.. then shoot another 50x this time with max volley, then compare the number of procs.. 50x is probably not enough to confirm.. heh possibly boring test.. it's just my curiosity but maybe anyone knows for sure?

edit: and if you equip 2 jagged silks, could it be 14+14+20=48% chance to proc volley? wow that would be awesome either for a dragon hunter or slayer

I haven't been playing the game all that much recently, unfortunately.

Thanks for the idea, botebote. I always assumed that having a skill and getting it from an item don't stack, but then I remembered that my Stonespeaker can use both the Heat Shield from Seal of Hephaestus and the one she normally has, separately. This gives me hope.

I only have an Avenger in epic Greece, I'm not sure his level's sufficient for Jagged Silk, but I'm going to check and try if I can. If two separate instances of Volley do, in fact, work separately, I'm so going to make a character specifically for Jagged Silk.

I'm just really torn about choosing the class. I'd like dual-wielding two of them, so I don't know if I should be trying Dragon Hunter, Slayer, Assassin, or Trickster.

Edit: unfortunately, my Avenger is only level 45, and Jagged Silk requires level 57. Tough. Started levelling him but it'll take a while.

Also, I'll probably stick to Rune as secondary mastery for the Jaggedsilker. Can you imagine uber Volley with Reckless Offense and Runeword: Burn?
Title: Re: New Ragnarok Items Showcase (spoilers)
Post by: botebote77 on 16 March 2018, 11:08:59
yep that's what i was thinking.. that would be mass destruction.. if the chance indeed stacks

on the other hand, the physical damage from battle standard would boost each projectile.. you would also benefit more from CotH if you choose warfare.. the catch is getting enough CDR for it to really work.. trackers hood would probably be a good choice

but the study prey synergy also lowers elemental resists.. that may go well with rune weapon, seal of fate and guardian stones

the old TQdefiler (not GDdefiler), still works and lets you change your level.. i use that for testing purposes
Title: Re: New Ragnarok Items Showcase (spoilers)
Post by: Firebrand on 16 March 2018, 15:49:45
All right, copied the character with TQDefiler, levelled him up, and started testing.

It's a pain, really. Jagged Silk's projectiles are really small and hard to see, aren't affected by the visuals of Earth Enchantment (which really would've helped a lot), and more often than not don't even leave the white tracers behind. So take what I say with a grain of salt.

My verdict is that they stack, though. With Teucer's Warbow, I got 8-10 Volley triggers in 50 shots (I forgot the exact amount), whereas with Jagged Silk I got 18. My character has level 7 Volley (17% chance if I recall correctly).

Which means one thing... Off to create that Dragon Hunter or Trickster (I'll decide, but probably Dragon Hunter).

...I really should finish the game with my Stonespeaker sometime.

That sounds great. And what about 2 Jagged silks ? do volley effects stack ?
Title: Re: New Ragnarok Items Showcase (spoilers)
Post by: Shazen on 17 March 2018, 12:35:57
So i did some small testing on this yesterday (posted the results here but the post isn't showing), and it seems that the chances stack although i'm not fully sure about it yet. I used the spear Einherjar's Line for the testing (it gives level 6 Volley). I also noticed that even the passive skill 'Armor handling' from 'The Rat's Pack' and the defense mastery stack, no doubts about this.
Title: Re: New Ragnarok Items Showcase (spoilers)
Post by: botebote77 on 17 March 2018, 21:24:12
good eye on the rat's pack.. that probably proves passives from items and skills stack.. the only mechanic still unproven is whether passives from same items stack.. like 2 jagged silks.. but i think it does too.. i think you mean Einherjar's line though.. Einherjar's fate is a sword.. it says it grants reckless offense although you still need dual wield or reckless offense to equip two weapons.. maybe it meant it gives chance to proc reckless offense.. i have 2 Einherjar's sword i could maybe test whether the chance does stack but it only gives 4% chance to proc.. 4% wouldn't be noticeable
Title: Re: New Ragnarok Items Showcase (spoilers)
Post by: Shazen on 17 March 2018, 21:54:20
I was using the spear actually, sorry about that. Unfortunately i've got no Jagged Silk at the moment, but if the volley from them indeed stacks, i'd seriously consider using those instead of double Skeletal darts for my dragon hunter :P.

Very nice items, and the weapon is ... amazing. Sure that you can make a good bleed/poison build with that kind of items.

I am still searching for Gorgon's edge to begin a poison build but it doesn't want to drop. On the other hand, one should not forget blue ragnarok items, like dagger of Basbona, truly unconventional. I wonder how to make the best of it. With some gear maybe it is possible to go all along epic mode with it for trash mobs, and switching to conventional weapon for boss.

The pic is not in english so here is the description: https://www.tq-db.net/search/basbona.

I 've made quick test in act 4 (normal) and the Thousands cuts skill triggers around 1 over 10 hits. The unconventional effect is the fact that this big retaliation is not single targetted but 4 m radius. It's a nice item for Xmax  ;D. With a crowd all around a melee toon, it should trigger often. In my test in normal (but without Xmax), when the effect is triggered all monsters around die suddendly.

I hope there is a legendary version of this effect. It would be possible to think about a true retaliation build, supported by damage reflect coming from defense, storm or dream.

I want to consult everyone's opinion regarding this item (attached below):

The +skills bonus say that it's an item made with a Druid in mind. What confuses me is the generous bonus on +% and flat DEX on the item. Is there a DEX-based theory builds for Druids I'm not aware of? Normally you'd associate the class as a pure mage. Not even as a hybrid.

I am not aware of such build but it may save you some stats point if you intend to use some high dex requirement items like SBC. The ring could also be used by a sage or a ranger or some other hybrid builds using these masteries.

Among the horde of characters I've been planning to start and try, the Berserker ranks pretty high. There is a number of reasons for this.

First of all, just the name does it, really. When Rune Mastery came out, I excitedly looked up the new class names for its combinations. I thought to myself that Warfare with Rune just had to be Berserker. No other way about it. And then it was! I wanted to play one for a long time, and now it's available.

But there's plenty character-wise, too. Dual Wield, Hew, Cross Cut, Tumult, Reckless Offense, Runeword: Explode... Can you imagine the sheer number of melee procs? Thunder Strike and War Wind for two area-hitting charge skills! Runeword: Feather and Weapon Training for obscene amount of offensive ability (criticals, anyone?).

However, there are issues. I just couldn't decide whether to go for Intelligence and Rune Weapon or the conventional Strength-based route with Onslaught. Both seemed to have their merits, but I'll stop discussing that as it does not belong to this topic, most likely.

The thing is... I think I've found something to sway me towards strength.

Look at this and bask in its glory. The -10% bleeding resistance aside (which honestly isn't such a huge penalty), this seems surreal, both offensively and defensively.

Sadly, I'm pretty sure its Sacred Rage will not stack with Rune's Sacred Rage, as it's a buff and I'd guess it's not possible to have two instances of the same buff active at the same time. I'd be happy to be proven wrong, but I think I tried with an Earth Enchantment granted by an item earlier, and it didn't work, as suspected.

A nice blue for a Strength berserker, when added to dodge attacks (30% chances at ultimate level) and ignore pain from Onslaught tree (20% physical and pierce resistance). Not bad  ;D

178% fire resistance, wow. Looks pretty good for bladeflinger Sorcerers, too. Other knifethrowers as well.

Oh you found a Nidbow  ;) i am still searching it. A great bow, useful for testing the Gautrec's trick but also for a bone charmer.

About the 1st item, i am not a fan of such heavy resistance in one elemental compartiment. Usuallly it will be wasted since gear with elemental resistances is not hard to find.
But well it can be useful for storm users and surely for knives

it's not the andvaranaut skill that was causing it though.. the andvaranaut skill probably is the gold drop

From what I understood from NGDevTwo's replay is this:
The ring is crafted based on the Andvaranaut ring lore.
The ring was magical generated gold.
It was cursed to bring misfortune and destruction to whoever possessed it.

-500% physical resistance reduction on wearer may be the curse part.
-The skill, as per db, gives increases gold drop chance by 100 and modifies monster gold drop when it procs.

@botebote77  I see 0 health instead of 1232

Can veteran's prefix even roll on anything other than chest armor (and weapons)? I keep getting items with it like gloves and helms, all of them new act 5 monster infrequents, and monster frequents.

Not that I would complain about an item like this one.

I've only got chest armour and weapons in my Vault, but I've not been in Act 5 much yet.  If you're getting it on other things, that's something Nordic's changed along the way.

I think Veteran's can roll on just about everything except mage armor, staves and jewelry.
Kill me, I don't remember a single item like this one from before Ragnarok, nor have them in stash. Unless it is a bug itself that was fixed. Or my memory fails me.

Well, Act 5 MIs work a little bit differently.

Normally an MI would choose its affixes from tables, depending on its difficulty, the progression in the difficulty and the item slot.

With Ragnarok's MIs, it will only depend on whether its a melee or mage item. So getting an Hallowed Dvergr helm should be impossible (that's how it worked last time I checked.) Even then, there seem to be some exceptions that defy this rule.

And for some reason, Ragnarok MIs have obnoxious rates. Dvergrs MIs are literally raining, but I have never seen a nixie MI or ihchtian MI.

But Hallowed should roll on both melee and mage - I've got both kinds in my Vault.

IIRC, it wasn't possible on a Ragnarok MI at the time I checked. Can you provide any pictures? (not that I think you lie, but a picture is always nice)

Don't have any from Act 5, but here's an example from the rest of the game.

It should roll on both types.  If it doesn't sounds like they've been changing a lot of things in the expansion which won't make sense for the rest of the game.

I have a stack of both by now

That would explain what is happening with veteran.

Kelpie items are common in my game, not as much as dvergr but I even stacked some with good affixes for low level characters. Have seen some fjord ichtian armors and a helm on lower difficulties, like two armors and one helm. Even tried farming the helm for my templar - nope - that thing is obnoxiously rare.

Valkyrie boots are like stonebineders, got first pair after ~40 attempts. Right after Asgard portal there is a spot with 4-6 valkyries that can be rerolled many times per session. Clear the spot, exit to main menu, rinse, repeat.

Indeed it doesn't make sense, though it only applies to MIs. For some reason they didn't bother to apply to each their own appropriate affixe table. The regular items from merchants work as they should.

It does trigger, just doesn't always do : it has a chance to run.

How do you make it triggered ?

I weared the tunic of the allfather during a one hour session play, trying in fight to run out of mana. And.. no raven in the sky.
I would have seen it since it lasts 24s according to the tooltip.

I looked it up and it has 25% chance to run when you drop below the mana threshold (wich is hardcoded and not mentionned, or at least I don't know where it is.) I recall seeing it trigger at least once so it must be a round of bad luck.

tunic of the alfather.. i used this before.. it does proc but the raven is just about useless.. i didn't know the 25% chance but that seems about right.. it doesn't seem to have any cooldown because sometimes you can have 2 ravens at a time.. it will only have a bit of a use if you constantly run out of mana.. in my case, i found that would be an icesharder or distortion wave spam.. but when it procs, it can no longer attract mobs attention because the mobs are already after you.. the damage is insignificant on its own.. maybe if you equip pet jewelries and become a dedicated petmaster it will improve.. but how will you run out of mana if you are a petmaster? what's more, the int req is 499.. it's not worth it for a petmaster

I retried and no matter what it didn't trigger. Another test  with a different char, another build, no raven. Therefore i wonder if there is something on my TQ installation that would impede a pet proc, but i have only Xmax and a texture mod installed. And with the chest Megingjord item, the wisp is well summoned on attack.

Even if it's merely cosmetic, the raven may be useful with a diviner. There is a mana cycle: mana drops to 0 and is refilled quickly with dark covenant. And pets damage is boosted by the nightmare aura.

Well, it did appeared for me, but it took a while to make it appear. Let's just say he doesn't reliably join the fight.

Also, there's no way a mere texture mod would impede with that. I guess it is just bad luck.

It's an Easter Egg item. That's it's name in the DB. Also: it literally has no bitmap to show in your inventory at all. :)

Not a literal troll axe, but a figurative troll axe.

Usually, i throw blue items out the window, except set items for collection.
But this one, dropped in athens cathacombs (epic)  is surprising: Shield block chances nearly capped, huge DA, CDR, reduction to requirments.

It makes me think of the BoteBote's concept of a melee mage. Strength or not strength, that is the question.
This shield would make the job imho up to mid-legendary for a small investment in strength. The only drawback is the small amount of damage blocked.

read my mage prophet thread

https://titanquestfans.net/index.php?topic=775.msg7821#new

i hijacked my nephew's prophet, disposed of his staff, and switched it for neiths will + rings of the rhine.. i managed to get str req of rings of the rhine to 213.. damaged blocked is low but it's still better than a staff.. DA helps against melee mobs.. against ranged, depends on your masteries.. for prophet, squall
