Title: All Masteries Guides updated to AE/R

Remember that All skills guide by Poinas? Yeah that was so good many people probably still want to get a save copy of it up to this day. But as we all know, it's not updated to AE/R and many skills have been changed since TQAE. Also, some items are different now and items can have a big influence on the masteries we want to take and how we want to build our characters. There are even new items if you have the ragnarok DLC. So i made this crazy suggestion before that experienced player members of this forum make an updated all masteries guide. This is still a work in progress but it's been started already.

I can update this guide later if another mastery guide appears on this forum. If anyone is expecting i write guides for the other masteries, sorry i just can't. It will have to come from other people. Those other masteries, many people can probably provide a better in-depth analysis than me. And you probably don't want an in-depth analysis from someone who plays even defense as a caster. even hunting. Even my assassin is a caster :D

ps: should someone write a mastery guide, pls PM me or make a mention so i can receive an email notification :)

Hey botebote, its been a while, how goes?  ^-^

I realize now I really missed this place.. and I see you've been busy, especially with the guides :)

Just wanted to say that I really appreciate all the effort you put in here (and the works of other folks of course) .. Since the comfort of holiday once again kicked in, its time to continue with the TQ adventures and reading these guides will be a great start for me 8)

hey hey been a while indeed :) .. there was.. like about 3 weeks i haven't played TQ.. which in that time i wrote guides instead

there is a little gripe i have about the 2 nature guides :) not really criticism because I'm glad they wrote it and i think they're both informative.. i just think both threads didn't mention 1 strategy of nature that abuses briar ward and refresh.. i tried to show it in my skinchanger guide (https://titanquestfans.net/index.php?topic=477.0).. that's also the favorite strategy of noogens (i think) whom i mentioned on my storm guide.. maybe @legowarrior can add it? :)

anyways I'm glad this community is gradually getting more members :)  .. and I'm glad to see you here again :)

Hi to all,
and especially to user botebote77,

first of all, I'm sorry for my mistakes, done in english, because it is not my native tongue (my native tongue is czech).

Second, I ask you, I beg you, on my knees, botebote77, when every mastery is done by you or other forum members, I please You, as coordinator and founder of this topic, make it into one document (PDF or so) and make it in one coherent style, like the Rogue mastery is done by you.

My desire, my dream is, that the updated mastery compendium is as coherent and as unified, as was the old Poinas' Guide.
Only in the form, mentioned one sentence earlier, it could be fully useful.

I am afraid, you did not undestand, what I was asking you for.

When ALL THE MASTERIES ARE DONE, you will very probably do some editing, to make all masteries' guide look similar. The coherent style of all masteries' guides done by different people. AND AFTER THAT, I WISH THAT YOU RELEASE THE PDF file.

Not now, when the work is not completed and the writing styles of the masteries' guides are very, very different. Some are technical analyses, with numbers, points and evaluations, some are more focused on insight of the actual playability ...

I'm not sure I understand the purpose of this thread... How do you assess the skills in a mastery on their own? It's the synergy they have/lack with other skill trees that makes them good or bad.

For example, I'd never pick up Eruption if I play an Avenger, because it immediately draws aggro from monsters and all the points spent in CD feel useless. Instead, I would invest heavily in VO for the crowd control that comes with it.

At the same time, when playing a (spell inclined) Juggernaut, I'd always take Eruption over VO, because it provides way more damage and requires lesser skill point investment.

So which one is good and which one is bad? I'm sorry, but I can neither stick a rating to any of those the way you do in your Rogue guide, nor just say that they're "both amazing and should be maxed out" the way Firebrand suggests in his Earth guide. You see, I like to play hybrid classes and those tend to be very skill point hungry, so maxing out everything just doesn't work =)

I might be a bit too harsh here, but to me topics like this seem like an exercise in futility, your time would be much better spent putting together a guide for a specific class.

It's mastery guides, not class guides.

And as botebote mentionned it, it's mostly meant for starters.

Yeah, I'm aware of that. Providing general info for beginners about certain skills and how they interact with other skills is nice! But giving skills a general rating and labeling them as good or bad out of context seems a bit misleading. People should have an open mind and be encouraged to explore things rather than instantly getting into the boxed type of thinking of "this is good and this is bad because XXX's guide said so".

And sorry for acting a bit like the Grinch here!  ;D

it's because Poinas rated each skill in his original work.. but yeah you have a point and I'm aware of that and it also got more true in the anniversary edition.. that's why this paragraph was in the beginning of the guide

Well, if people lack critical thinking and just take for granted the rating assigned to the skill, it's their own fault :P
I don't know why I even went for that (useless!) criticism. I think I'm just salty because I deleted another character yesterday and still haven't gotten over it. I should do something more constructive with my time  O:-)

what do you think about the new post rating feature in forum ? Isn't it a constructive and must-have feature ? How could we live without it until this day ?

What about rating the posts that rate the skills ?
