Went in pretty smoothly.  Told me something about the pathing, but when it opened up and I checked it, it had found the file paths it wanted.  Might have been because I found the link on the Steam community forum, but I have TQAE on GOG.  I just checked that it could see Ragnarok items and that my LoC toons could be loaded, but it seems to be fine at the moment.  I can also opt to copy items and complete/change bonuses on relics/charms which the German fansite version wouldn't let me do.

Thanks. I have had bad experiences in the past with a buggy version of the vault, and I want to make sure it is OK before I install it.

so this reminds of the "what not to do" when using TQvault

1) do not use TQvault when the game is running

2) do not move items to/from equipment slots.. if moving equipped items to vault, put in inventory first, close the game, open vault and transfer.. if equipping items stored in vault, put in inventory, close vault, and equip in-game

You need to go into the Configure area and tick Allow Item Editing Features and Allow Item Copying.  That'll let you change the completion bonuses and make duplicates/copies of items.  I also unticked Player Equipment Read Only - that allows you to move items from your toon.  Whether it would screw things up - see botebote77's point 2) in his post - I don't know.  I never move equipped items in the Vault anyway.

i lost several items by doing that before.. never tested with the newest version but I'd rather be safe.. 1 time i saw a ring in my artifact slot.. that artifact was lost forever

i actually have a way of getting my desired completion bonus for relics and charms without using defiler or TQvault and without exiting the game.. it requires some patience but if some people see using TQvault to change completion bonus as cheating, my method is more conscience friendly.. sadly, it doesn't work for artifacts

botebote77, if it happens again you could try this.  Maeusle gave me this tip a while ago.

"my documents - my games - TQIT - save data - main (user if playing a mod) - "your char" - backup -  player.chr"

Copy and replace this file in the folder above it, and then you can look ingame if the toon is okay...

Normally such things happen when you load the toon inadvertently in another Mod or in the original game.

Sometimes that doesn't work so you can choose Backup moved by TQVault then player.chr.  Copy and replace as said above.  I've had screwed up toons sometimes in game playing the LoC mod where not only do items move about, but all the skills get wiped as well without you getting the points back.  Doing the above works for me.  Make sure you back up your toons regularly of course to stay up to date with your gaming progress.  :)

The Vault should be put in the Titan Quest folder, not Immortal Throne.  Is that where you put it?

Try the trick I posted, that should put it right again.

Pics are still big Pazuzu. What size did you set Imgur for? Or did you forget again?  ;)

In my savedata i see my toons, but what am i supposed to do? I do not have another copy of that savedata.

Click on the toon you need.  You'll then see Backup folder.  Click on that and you'll see Player.  Select that and then copy it.  Go backwards to your toon file again and you'll see that also has a Player file.  Paste the copied one (you'll be told there's a file of the same name and do you want to replace it - yes) which will replace that one with the backup one.  That should solve the problem.  If not then do exactly the same thing using the Backup Moved from TQVault.  Backup Moved from TQVault, copy Player and paste it in the character's file.

I just want to make sure that I have this installation process correct. I uninstall my present vault and then install this new version into my Titanquest folder?
I have backed up 2 folders -- one named TQVaultData and one named TQVault2314AE

No matter which version I try, there is always this bug after closing the vault once and opening again for the second time;

You see, on the upper right panel my char's inventory sticking on and thus hiding the caravan buttons tab. It becomes like this after the program warns me about a .dll issue and seemingly fixes itself by updating something in registry.

You have any ideas what causes this? I simply placed the folder in the same drive that the game is installed (if it makes any difference).

The Vault should be placed in My Games\Titan Quest - not in the same folder as the game and not in the Immortal Throne folder.

Uninstall the Vault completely, including the TQVaultData file (back it up first) and then reinstall the programme and see if that fixes it.

What do you mean by "uninstall" ? There is no installer for the programme, you just download the folder and place it.
Anyway I deleted everything and put it again in the folder you mentioned but still no luck.

Hello Spectre. It was your real nick,right?

It was originally on the desktop when I first downloaded it. Then the issue appeared and I moved it to the drive where the game installed (not the installation folder itself, just somewhere in : D) but the problem was still there.
Now I tried it in My Games folder and nothing has changed.

I believe the programme is trying to fit all the sections into the window so everything can be visible but fails to achieve that while moving the "equipped rings" part a few inches above so they could be seen. Because when I opened the programme for the first time, caravan tabs and buttons were there to be seen but the equipped rings of the character was hidden below the window border. Now rings are visible but buttons are concealed by the upper char part.

I hope I was able to explain it correctly.

i have the same problem.. it wasn't an installer.. it was a zip file you have to extract so no matter where you put the folder it's still the same.. tried playing with the config file but no luck.. only thing i can do now is to have 2.5.1 version as well.. it's not XL size so it shows equipped tab and caravan tab.. i use both versions but of course i would want a better solution

edit: i haven't tried full screen yet.. i don't know if there's an option for that.. I'll have to try later

We are trying to reproduce and solve this bug, happens with a few users using low resolutions(1366x768). I'm trying to reproduce this on my pc, but never happens, looking at the code (for days), and found nothing yet...

Did you put it in the right section of your computer?  It should go in My Documents\My Games\Titan Quest - not the Immortal Throne.

Have you configured it properly to right the right pathways?

Before I installed the DLC, I was using the old TQVault 2.3.0.4, and it was working fine for me except for the caravan size issue. Now that I have the DLC installed, it obviously doesn't recognize the DLC items. So I would like to switch to the TQVaultAE. Is there any way for me back up and transfer the items I have in TQVault 2.3.0.4 to the new TQVaultAE?

There is no need to backup your vault items. The new one detects them automatically. But of you wish to, they are found in documents>my games>titan quest>TQVault Data

Hey All,

I've installed the latest version of VaultAE (2.5.6.0) but I'm not sure how to load Custom Map chars. I've checked the box in config but nothing appears in the dropdown list. I suspect it is because I am using the Steam version of TQ:AE/R.

Has anyone used VaultAE for a Steam Workshop based mod? And if so, how did you get it working?

Did you check the pathing is correct in the Vault configuration?  I can't see why it wouldn't work with the Steam version since Steam got AE long before GOG had it available and any updates come out there first too.  Which mod are you trying to use it for?

Pathing looks okay. TQ Game Path and IT Game Path both point to the correct Steam library.

Vault Path is pointing to \Documents\My Games\Titan Quest\TQVaultData.

I can see the characters that I am using in the unmodded game, but not any others.

Mod I am using is Legion of Champions.

I must be missing something here.....

You need to configure the Vault for custom maps.  To into Configure and you'll see Enable Custom Maps, tick that and then select the LoC mod.  The program will say you've made a change and do you want to restart the program - click yes.  It will close and reopen with your LoC toons ready for selection.  When you want to switch back to the base game go back into Configure and untick the Enable Custom Maps option.  The program will ask you the same question about restarting, click yes and it will go through closing and opening again with your main characters ready to be selected.

That was the problem in my original post. I've checked that box, restarted Vault, but that drop down list is empty.

I'm thinking that the Steam Workshop is saving the LoC mod in a location that Vault isn't configured to access. I'll have a bit of a hunt to find out where that could be.

I can't think it's saving them in a different place if you can see your main toons in the Vault.  Main toons are in the Main folder, custom ones for LoC are in the User folder.

In TQVault you can specify the mod name using the command line "/MOD:", or with the new TQVaultAE.ini file in the "Mod" property.

Hello everybody.
I finally got around to installing the Ragnarok DLC, and was using it with TQVault 1.1.5.1 - it didn't display the correct item names, but at least it was reading them and that was good enough for me; later, when I found my first arcane formula from the DLC, the vault would show an error when hovering over it and would not allow me to move it. I downloaded the TQVault from this thread to try out, and I get this error: http://prntscr.com/k3oqkd - this is the first thing that pops up, I can't even get to the configuration window. Help!?

So I recently came back to TQ and... yes, this thing STILL doesn't work with any Custom Map or character.

Writing something in the .ini does nothing. I tried the workshop folder number, I tried the specific mod name, I tried transferring the mod to CustomMaps folder in My games. It does absolutely nothing. Moreover, if ANY changes take place, it completely breaks the stash of the main character.

I used exactly this. It does not work. It can't recognize any of the Custom Maps installed in the Workshop, and it can't see any of my custom game characters.

TQVaultXL_1.1.5.1 is the only one working for me too on Ragna, it doesn't allow relic editing etc for me either, allows copy/duplicate though.

I was able to use the parallel installed old IT vault to edit some relics for ragna chars (within old IT vault).

Did try a whole bunch of versions from git, also did every possible fiddling with paths, auto to false, setting manually in .config, setting paths manually in .ini (which is supposed to be final override)

You have to select the mod in the Configure section.  Tick Enable Custom Maps and then choose which one you want.

now i have a problem of my own.

i cant create any new vaults. i can copy a vault and it saves just fine, but i cant create a brand new on.

when i create a new one the vault file doesnt show up in my tqvault data folder. i can create the vault and move items to/from it but it doesnt save.

not sure if anyone else experienced this problem but i found a workaround.

create a new vault and then make a copy of it. both vaults will now be saved and you can then rename them.

Problem with the new version of TQ Vault:

actual equipped items and storage/inventory are cut off. i tried re-downloading TQ vault to fix the problem without any success.

TQVault is in My Documents\My Games\Titan Quest\TQVaultData.  Note it's not in Immortal Throne folder, but in the original.

oddly enough it happens on a different character depending on which computer I use. It just loads the character as though they have no equipment.

Yes, I am experiencing the same issue. It appeared two days ago - everything was working perfectly (both the TQVault and my game on Steam) up to that particular time.

Actually:

If you modify this:

Q. How to activate the cheats (character edition, item edition, item copy)?

A. Follow these steps:

Navigate the the installation folder of TQVaultAE
Open TQVaultAE.exe.config in a text editor (i.e. notepad, not Microsoft Word)
Find the key AllowCheats and change the value from False to True
Enable the cheats individually in the configuration menu

There are new settings, but none of them allow you to change the completion bonus.

Yep, I can change the bonuses.

From 'False' to 'True' I changed the following:
- AllowItemCopy
- AllowItemEdit
- AllowCharacterEdit
- AllowCheats

And these are the only things I edited.

not sure, i tend to play the game as it was meant without changing too much...for the most part.

I was the previous maintainer of TQVault (after bman654) and it's great to see that TQVault lives on.  Great job on TQVaultAE.

To add languages, it was basically a resource in the application with all of the translated strings though I am not sure that it is still done that way.  You should contact the current author or add an enhancement to the git page to try to get it implemented.

If anyone sees that TQVault 3.5.0 has been released, please do not use that version.  I introduced a bug that could corrupt your character save so please continue with 3.4.0 until a patched version is released.  There is a fix and it is waiting to be released.

Guys maybe someone can help. So I'm using the latest TQvault AE and I'm playing with soulvizier and used Itemus to get some legendary gear. The problem is that every time I move the mouse over any legendary piece item to copy them so I can transfer them to my main character using the vault, it doesn't matter what is it DLC or non DLC weapons or gear I get the long windows error message. The weird thing is I don't get that error message with anything else blue or green only with purple/legendary things. Any idea why? I tried every single legendary item in itemus and the vault gives that error message every single time. I can't copy any legendary items from custom map character to my main game character at all. any other non legendary items works fine. Thanks in advance

Is more than possible this is a problem due to the Vault not able to read properly all the item attributes (happens with a few of the Atlantis broken items), as the item was generated with a mod, I guess.

I don't use this type of mods but you could try to configure the custom maps property on the vault configuration and add soulvizier.

Hello,

So I have the Soulvizier custom mod and am trying to get it to work properly with either the TQVault AE or TQVault XL. Both are the latest versions and I have set the paths correctly. For the TQVault AE, I have enabled the custom mods and selected the mod but the issue is all the inventory and stash boxes are too small and cut off some of the items.

As for the XL version, I can't select the mod in the custom mod menu (it's just not there). Diablo 2 Immortal mod is there but not the Soulvizier mod. Although it can't be selected, my character still shows up in the menu and loads but... as with the AE vault it cuts off items.

I get this error when I start the AE version but not the XL one. I click OK and get the same message for the relic stash and of course when it loads neither of those tabs are shown.

I have verified TQAE game files and tried again but same thing. How can I get any of these to work properly?

When you view the ItemSeed, there is a percent next to the ItemSeed number. Is this number a percentile or does it represent the chance to get that item with those stats?

I have used this TQVault many, many moons ago and it worked fine as far as I can remember.


I am now (recently updated , finally) on Windows 10 Pro(64bit)

I am also using Steam version.  TQ Anniversary Edition.

Custom Mods installed:

Diablo 2 Lilth
Itemus
and something called "More Skill points + Enchanting Unlimited"
Steam lists the last mod as the most popular so I gave it a try...although it doesn't seem to be much different to me.  :-[
I have NOT removed any mods ...that I know of .

I would include pictures, but I don't know how to do that on this forum and what image host sites are allowed here and rather than upset a site moderator I didn't attempt to put any in this post.

A side note: OMG!! :o The Verification is the most difficult thing I've ever seen on any forum or site.... :o :o (insert blinking Emoji)

After installing Eternal Embers, TQ Vault no longer recognizes Atlantis-items.
Upgraded to version 3.8, but no change. Ragnarok-items looks fine, so surely the pathing must be correct?

I have tried the Test2 and I can confirm it now displays the Atlantis items correctly, though I can't confirm the same for the EE items as I have no characters in Legendary difficulty and the same can be said about the new mastery because I also have no new character with the new mastery currently.

Note that before you replace your files in the TQvault folder, don't forget backup your vaults too, just in case it hits the fan.
Your vaults should be located at C:\Users\username\Documents\My Games\Titan Quest, where "username" is your computer user name

Hello, I'm trying to create a green ring with the "Socrate's" prefix and the "of the Tinkerer" suffix, but when I put base item in the forge screen its stats are automatically boosted by 25% (a purple writing says "?attributeScalePercent?: 25.000000"), so the ring in the end gives +25% int instead of +20% and so on. It happens only with some items, it didn't happen with an amulet for instance. Is it the base item that is good quality and has a boost or am I making something wrong with the program?

I don't understand well how it works since all items with the same name seem to have the same stats in the vault but in game those are randomized. Is there a way to see actual item stats in the vault?

Hello everyone,

I have a problem with the latest version of TQVaultAE (4.4.0). The Vault works perfectly with "vanilla" characters, but seems unable to detect Caravan-related files for characters associated with a mod. I searched for information, but was surprised not to find much evidence. A conversation on Etienne Lamoureux's GitHub suggests moving the mod folder (called "mymod") from where it is stored (it's a Steam Workshop mod), namely in SteamApps/Workshop (..) to a "CustomMaps" folder (which must be created in My Games/Titan Quest - Immortal Throne (..) ).
I obviously checked the custom games detection box in the Vault configuration tab.
But that doesn't fix anything. I try to launch the game and contact the caravaner, but the creation of the files associated with the 3 different chests in the caravan are still not detected by TqVaultAE.
Does anyone have any idea of ​​a solution or has already had to deal with this problem?

Did you configure the Vault for the mod in the Configuration settings?

Yes. If you're referring to the box that needs to be checked for TQVault to access modded games, yes.

@Azaghal we don't allow using links this way, especially by newer members. Link can go under spoiler or under nobbc bbcode tag. If posting images, mention that in post, so many can avoid clicking. You can post image location under img bbcode to display directly on forum, or link without using url bbcode tag. I'm sorry for the mistake.
Medea, you are some kind of veteran. It's good to see you here too.

I've tried to ask some help directly on the Steam Workshop page of the mod, but it isn't updated since 2022, so I don't have much hope..
Maybe there's something wrong with those files : winsys.xdb and micsys.xdb ?

Anyone getting the Vault crashing when trying to move/copy items from the Vault to a Legion of Champions 2024 character?  It fires up okay, but when I put a few items into it it then crashes and none of the items are available in game.  Only way I've found is to just move/copy one or two items and then close the Vault before it crashes then repeat the process.
