I have an annoying problem which i really need help solving.
I am currently playing multiplayer with a pal, and we use a bounce mod to increase monsters x2 or x3 depending plus a few other benefits, not when the defiler dosen't work with AE.
But the problem is, that the game makes a clone of my charecter when joining my pals game. Since we use a bounce mod, i can't manually join his game, as it's labeled "invalid", so he has to invite me. But when getting invited to a game in TQ, there is for some reason no option regarding charecter selection, but the game just join with whatever last used charecter.
But like that isn't enough, the charecter the game joins with, is just a copy/clone.
Which means that my charecter is still lvl 1 in helos with first mission active (if i start in single player), but only when joining his game, it's lvl 53.
I don't really know how to desribe it as english isn't my native tounge.
But when you start a game using a mod, you first select the mod, and then push start, and then it returns to the menu where you actually start the game. But it's 2 different versions of the same charecter.
So my lvl 53 char that i play multiplayer with, dosen't actually exist, except in the multiplayer game, as it's simply a copy.
Which means that i can't do anything with the charecter in the TQvault, or start a singleplayer with the lvl 53 charecter.
Is there any way to join a friends game while using bounce mod, and actually play with the real charecter?

Never heard of this sort of thing happening before. Which mod are you using? And do you both have the same parts of the game and the same version of it?

It happends no matter what mod we're using. And yes, we both play steam TQ AE with same DLC's.
The problem is that he game clones a charecter when "play custom", so the charecter you see in the custom where you can choose the mods, are actually a clone, and first when you have chosen the mod and push start, it returns to menu where you again push start with your actual real charecter.
It's always been like that in all the years i've played TQ, also back on IT.
But the problem when playing multiplayer with mod, is that instead of my actual charecter, the game joins me in with hte clone charecter you normally see when in the custom mod selection.
Where it should be the other way around.
If you try to take a charecter, and start "play custom" and chose a mod, then go in and change your gear on your charecter. Then when you next time on the main menu go to "play custom" you'll see that your charecter have different gear on when showed in the mods menu, compared to your same charecter after clicking "start" and returning to the menu to click "start" again.
That's because the game clones your charecter. And when playing singleplayer or hosting, it's not a problem, as you return to the menu and your real charecter after chosing the mod. The problem occour when being invited into a mod server, as the game then picks your clone charecter for you.

Still no idea what's happening, but bounce mods don't use different characters from your vanilla ones; a bounce mod just takes you back to that vanilla character selection screen so you can then choose which character you want to play in that mod.

Can you make a video of what's happening so we can see it?
