guys, what do you make of this?
the stat points below each mastery are total stat points for that mastery
(just for refresher, 1 stat point spent on str, int, and dex will add 4 points to that stat. 1 stat point spent on health or energy will result to 40 hp or mana)
rune:
40 str 10
80 int. 20
60 dex. 15
800 health 20
65 stat points
spirit
120 int. 30
60 dex. 15
800 health. 20
320 energy. 8
73 stat points
nature
100 int. 25
60 dex. 15
800 health. 20
640 energy. 16
76 stat points
dream
80 str. 20
70 int. 17.5
1400 health. 35
320 energy. 8
80.5 stat points
rogue
70 str. 17.5
100 dex. 25
1400 health. 35
77.5
warfare
80 str. 20
80 dex. 20
1600 health. 40
80 stat points
defense
60 str. 15
80 dex. 20
2000 health. 50
85 stat points
hunting
70 str. 17.5
100 dex. 25
1400 health. 35
77.5 stat points
storm
120 int. 30
40 dex. 10
840 health. 21
600 energy 15
76 stat points
earth
120 int. 30
60 dex. 15
900 health. 22.5
240 energy. 6
73.5 stat points
these are all max values (40 skill points)
rune has the lowest while defense has the highest stat points.
you can argue that rune has some of the best skills? but i refuse to believe defense has the worst skills.

What do stats have to do with whether a mastery has good skills or not?

What do stats have to do with whether a mastery has good skills or not?
maybe nothing. I'm just thinking of a reason why rune have so low total.
actually looking at it, every int based mastery have the lowest totals, except dream which is mix str and int
-
looking at it, rune its the only mastery that gives bonus to each stat ( str/int/dex) more a hybrid class mastery
-
just to make it clear, in case it's not..
for example spirit, the stats you get by putting 40 skill points on the mastery bar:
120 int
60 dex
800 health
320 energy
120 int ÷ 4 = 30 (that's why there is a 30 next to int, see main post)
that means 120 int is equivalent to 30 stat points
same with dex, 60 ÷ 4 = 15
if you total everything, the 120 int, 60 dex, 800 hp, and 320 mana is equivalent to 73 stat points
so by putting 40 skill points on the spirit mastery bar, you got stats worth 73 stat points

There's no rhyme or reason to why some masteries are more valuable in terms of stats. One of the first things I did when I started modding was to balance them, making them all equal in terms of equivalent investment.
