Added to the leaderboard Tauceti and good luck with him.  Not really sure what to make of the Rune mastery myself.  At first I thought it looked good, but can't say I like many of the skills except for Rune Weapon and Explode/Burn.  Admittedly I've only tried the others with just a few points in them, but not keen on them really.

I think they were trying to do a Dream with Rune mastery, but iirc Dream's skills don't rely on int to get good damage from them while Rune's seem to need some int at least.  :-\

Siegfried - Lvl 43 Haruspex (Untwinked) - Normal Chang'an Farmlands

So I am back with a new character, hopefully this time I will progress further. I have actually bought the Ragnarok expansion and I am really enjoying the new Thrown weapons!

I have cleared much of Act I, Act II and a part of Act III using Skeletal Darts which I had gotten somewhere before the Gorgons. That item is absolutely broken and I believe it should be nerfed :D On top of that I got it with some really good prefix (+% Physical dmg, + Pierce dmg).

Right before Barmanu, some Neanderthal dropped this beauty, which I immediately put to use.
https://www.tq-db.net/equipment/blue-dragons-scales

Much like my Templar playthrough, I am relying far more on Trance of Wrath and Distort Reality EBD than the actual auto attacks.

Wish me luck for Typhon (which I believe to be the greatest obstacle from Act III/Act IV due to his combination of really annoying skills) and Act V (which I will be doing absolutely blind... :o).

Currently I am porting between Chang'an and Great Wall, trying to get my my Hallowed helm and Hale rings.

Runny Smith - Lvl25 (twinked) - Normal Rhakhotis

I've seen your update Medea of your rules about posting images of boss killed only for epic & legendary difficulties, it'll save me from uploading images to imgur.

The reason why i took a runesmith is the hope to finally deal with deadly melee bosses like Minolord, Barmanu and Typhon, and check if the toon can sustain an ice or meteor shower on his head  ;D
The 1st milestone is then 3xMinolords in normal and i was happy with the result: a good shield(+skills) with 80% block chances+ a recovery time -57%: the toon life was slowly going down but not that much. I wonder if all the damage input from the minos is still sustainable in epic though.

Aaaaand the big boy is down.

I must have shuffled at least 100 times between Great Wall and Chang'an and still no Hallowed Helm. So I decided to risk it without it. And I could really feel the difference compared to my Templar character. I never really felt safe despite not dropping below 40/50% HP at any given moment. In the end EBD did the job, but I had to restock my potions after killing the first Typhon which resulted in the other regening to full health....

Congrats Ororo. Beating 3xTyphon untwinked is really a performance in normal 8)

Regarding the expansion, the 2nd half imho tends to be hard in epic difficulty and destructive in legendary.
A few trash monsters have new deadly abilities. And if you find items with %chances to avoid projectiles, don't throw it by the window, keep it !

Guys... nevermind my complaints about the Hallowed Helm (although I still haven't gotten one #thanksrngjesus).

I have to be the luckiest bastard, who has ever committed a systematic genocide of the frog dudes in Soronis:

That item still has a lower overall DPS than the Blue Dragon Scales  ;D ;D Something tells me the Thrown weapons are kind of broken nowadays :D But in any case, it's going to be an invaluable asset against all Act IV bosses. But wait, it gets better. I wouldn't be writing this post just to brag about a nice prefix on a Bramblewood bow, which basically drops from every 250th frog:

I am speechless. Although I would prefer if this beauty dropped on Legendary hahaha. I nearly sold it too! Kind of didn't expect the prefix/suffix to be anything decent. Basically, everything about this breastplate is amazing and it nearly caps my Pierce Resistance...

Legendary is still aeons away ;D I feel pretty confident about Act IV now, but I have no idea about Act V... I will try to push my Bleeding and Vitality resistances as high as possible.

Very nice.  But just wait until you're like me - 10 years of playing and still no Batrachos Greaves

Well Medea, that was actually the real reason why I was farming Soronis! I am still running around with this:

https://www.tq-db.net/equipment/ardent-greaves

Which is kinda meh. I can do better than than with Batrachos greaves and Hermes's Sandal with some resistance completion bonus.

Although it's definitely an item that I will keep for the future. I believe I have 2 items "-of Glade" stored in the Caravan, so that should give me a comfortable immunity vs Cerberus's damage :)

is it still worth it though? the DA is now flat instead of %

i mean it's a very rare item and even if it does drop, chances are the affixes are not worth it

it was coveted long ago because the DA was +120% (legendary)
now it's just flat 120

Good question botebote77.  Guess it depends on how valuable flat DA is in the game now.

well.. just look at it this way:

the legendary version used to have +120% DA.. if for example your DA from dex and other items totals to 500 (i think that's a fair value), with +120% that goes up to 1100 DA

but now it's only flat 120, so it's just 500 + 120 = 620 DA

that's a difference of 480 DA, that's huge

that MI took a big big nerf

edit: and if you add DA from skills, the difference will be even bigger

I wasn't aware of that change oups.

Anyhow, these perks are useful for leveling until having access to purple items.
(I am not sure of this, but the drop rate of these perks seems better in act 5, i got some of these with master forge or black steel MIs iirc)
