General Gameplay / Souls

Hello all,
A bit of nostalgia came over me and I decided to install the SV mod again. I have all 3 versions of Titan Quest and downloaded, installed and copied the SV mod files (first the base 0.90 then 0.96 and last the unfinished? 98i version) where they belong in the TQ IT folder. Now the mod works fine.. but all heroes and bosses I have come across so far have not dropped a soul. The mod is certainly working I am sure of that, but the souls I'm not so sure. Maybe I am just unlucky? I am only in act 1 but a fair way through and have encountered numerous heroes and a few bosses but zilch, nada souls.
Anyone else had this problem before?
