Tips for reducing lag on xmax
« on: 21 June 2019, 08:33:33 »
Hey everyone, I’m play through Ragnarok with xmax and the amount of mobs is causing super slow frame rates. I doubt this is a graphic issue as I’m running a gtx 1070 which should be overkill for this game.
Does anyone have any tips on how to optimise the game for xmax? Could the game only be utilising 2 cores or is this simply because the engine is old and not built for such a task?

Mainly the problem is your last point. But there are some things you can try, add a line to the ini forceSingleProcessorMode= True. Set core affinity in task manager to 1. Then if you are running the dx11 version turn off HBAO+, it is very poorly optimized at the moment. You could always add it in through reshade if you really want that post processing effect.

I've done some more testing, and I think the best solution if you want to use the DX11 version is to turn off all the post processing and AA effect in the game. Install reshade and enable them all through reshade, it works much better than letting the game handle the post processing for some reason.
