I almost never used one :S
How about you ? What you think about the current scrools ?
-
Yeah me neither.
Sky's Rage seems to be good for stunning bosses for a while (if you can stun them at all that is)
I barely beat Cerberus this way.
I suppose you just keep them for bosses or something.
I might try using scrolls more on my next attempt to play this game.

The direct damage ones are pretty much useless, or at least not worth their price.
The resistance buff ones can help though, and the summoning scrolls (especially Djinn) are real boss killers.
-
I never used one. For me it's close to cheating.

Scroll of frenzy is a monster on any pierce build. Summoners have stalwart alliance and behemoth. Behemoth is a pet that does 2,5K damage before pet buffs. Now the real killer is the primordial chaos scroll which is op for any physical or elemental attack build and comes with damage absorption like colossus form.
I tend to buy stacks of them for some special occasion, but rarely use any as that occasion never comes. Or when it comes, its to late to use a scroll.
Arrow dancer or fortitude for undead and machae if a build relies on life steal or otherwise weak against massed archers.

I just use Elemental Shielding when I think I may need it for the main game. If I'm playing the LoC mod then I might use the Cyclops or Storm Witches ones to add more pets into the mix. Haven't really looked at the new Ragnarök ones yet.

Cheating implies breaking the rules, and these are part of the game.
Plus they aren't exactly "press button to win", they can give you a little bit of an edge but they're not exactly boss killers on their own or anything.
It's like having potions vs not having them.
Bosses can be done without them but having them gives you an advantage.
I still have trouble with bosses even when I do use them.
Used a Sky's Rage on Cerberus, still almost died when it wore off before I could defeat the boss.
It didn't wear off when Cerberus had a sliver of health left either, it's was like a good 25-35% left.
Didn't really even phase Typhon either so I still had a really hard time.
