I'm a day later than I planned but life happens! Anyways I have joined the challenge!

Fisch - Durzo - Lv10 Battlemage AE - Spartan Highlands

So far untwinked but I expect that to change down the line. I've been pretty lucky with drops so far and I have managed to get a Stone Hammer, Outriders Buckler and, Labyrinthine Bracers.

I originally planned to stick with Warrior until the class was maxed out and drop a single point into each skill I planned on using on the way up but I changed my mind and immediately grabbed Earth and dropped a point into Earth Enchantment and Ring of Flame. So far I don't regret that decision :D

Oddly enough Nessus - Centuar Chieftain didn't spawn at all upon my first arrival so I decided to reload and beeline my way back over for the fight which fixed the issue. Lured them out one at a time and had no problem at all. Just made sure to use health pots and drop Battle Standard at the beginning of the fight.

I'm not sure how to post the images exactly... so here are some imgur links...

I sincerely hope it is cookies in the box. I could go for a warm chocolate chip cookie.

I think they will synergize nicely as I get further into the build and I almost forget about Volativity so that will be a nice little boost to look forward to. I think I've got some battlemage set gear in my vault to so that will be a nice boost once I reach the levels.

I agree Medea, nice work. Seeing new post in this thread daily is what made me decide to join.

Jacko I think it's awesome that your daughter is interested in the game and making character decisions with you! Should make it an interesting play experience for ya! Those early Stonebinder cuffs should be helpful to. I hope to get lucky and get a pair without much work  :P

edit: Just checked my vault. I was thinking of the Pyromancer and the Firewalker sets so not exactly a Battlemage set per se but the Firewalker set definitely looks like one to use once (if) I reach lv 33.

I will be joining this challenge this evening and posting my screenshots!  ;D
I am thinkin I may go the route of a sword and board Battlemage (warfare/earth) and grab Core Dweller for some damage mitigation and a mobile tank as well as stone form for some personal survivability. I get the feeling I will be chugging health potions anyways but it is what it is. I also plan to grab a couple skills from earth for some AoE like ring of flame and eruption. This is just some early ideas but hey its a start! I look forward to posting later tonight!

It means you're using stuff from your Vault collection - and/or if you have TQDefiler for the IT version of the game if you're using things like increased drops from chests, increased unique chance from chests, being able to socket unique items with relics/charms, etc.  In  other words, not self-found items only.

Ah I just assumed that TQ Vault was not allowed for the challenge. I have tons of gear in my vault. Especially considering I just successfully transferred my TQ Vault and characters (pre steam) from my old laptop to my desktop. Really helped flush out my vault. Was nice to see all my old gear and toons again. May give this challenge a go in the near future!

Gasconron thanks for the guides! I look forward to watching this grow and learn from it. Already been very helpful and the guides are well laid out to! I dunno how well I can handle hardcore cuz my patience slips sometimes especially with a silly death we are all to familiar with but definitely gives me something to consider going forward when I make a new toon.

Thank you for posting this. Glad to see they are so quick on the updates and fixes. It's so nice to this game getting development love again after so long.

Looks like I will be waiting until the end of the month to get this expansion. My girlfriend wants to get it for me as a gift so now I am playing the waiting game. Hopefully though that month is gonna give some time for things like TQ Vault to catch up along with the other mods.

I forget. What does it mean for a toon to be twinked?

Hi Cleglaw! Welcome!

12
So as the title states I am looking for some tips that I can use to work out my own builds and ideas. I see very detailed guides and tons of information in them with leveling progression and this skill vs that skill which is wonderful and helpful and something I would be interested in doing for myself and heck if I make a good build maybe post it one day. The issues I run into right off the bat are that I don't understand the in depth game mechanics the way it appears many of these people making guides do. I see them calculating damage and % impact and that a certain skill may be terrible for whatever reason. I personally don't even know how to go about learning that information let alone understanding all the complex mechanics that it involves. I also see some builds that focus maybe 3/4 or more of their mastery points into a single mastery and than grabbing just a skill tree or two out of the second mastery which all seems very pre planned and also not something I really like. I wanna use both masteries effectively without favoring one to hard. I understand all the skills list what they do and how they impact the game but reading most skills I just have the reaction of "yea that sounds awesome" but what if I get to epic or legendary and just fall flat on my face? I have tried making toons before without referencing a guide and get through normal and some of epic and just get stomped beyond that. So I reference a guide to maybe tweak my build and come to find out that I am so far from optimal it hurts.

So I guess what I am getting at is do I just need to play every class and read every skill until I fundamentally understand them and what they do and how this % affects that % damage? Or does someone have tips for a noob wannabe build maker like myself? Am I just bad at the game and don't want to admit it to myself?

New Members Introduction / Game keeps pullin me back
« on: 28 November 2017, 03:04:08 »
Hello all I'm Fisch and as the topic says this game just won't let me go. I saw that a new expansion came out and I thought surely not but I was oh so very wrong. So now I am excited all over again for this game and look forward to playing and learning with everyone else. I look forward to a hopefully active forum and to see all the new guides and info people come out with. I used to lurk on the old forums posting occasionally disappearing for a few months returning on and off however now I hope to remain active for much longer and become a part of the community for such an amazing game that continues to deliver time and time again. Anyways I will be purchasing the new expansion later tonight and probably playing tomorrow after this headache goes away. Hello everyone!

No snow yet but I am sure I'll see at least some flurries within the next month.
