Guides AE / Re: Earth: An Attempt at a Comprehensive Guide [Ragnarök]
« on: 07 September 2018, 06:21:43 »
it's been a while.. i hope you remember me  :)

I'm probably not the one to answer because earth has never been my forte.. but I'm planning to play again this time also as an earth caster with volcanic orb as main attack

I've tried volcanic orb a bit before and i might have some answers to your question:

1) a true pure spellcaster doesn't attack with a weapon

2) a staff main attack that doesn't involve ternion just wanes later on.. i can say storm is a strength of mine and a staff attack with no ternion can never match ice shard.. even lightning bolt if not for the cooldown.. staff also is no match for distortion wave.. or throwing knife if you support it with something

3) volcanic orb is best used with shift key even if you bind it to RMB because if you press shift, volcanic orb seems to have no range limit.. and if your LMB is a spell attack, you press shift..  so there's that

although attacking with a staff is easier to reduce resistances.. so if your secondary mastery has no reduced resist, it makes sense to attack with a staff

of course early game when you have no enough CDR yet, you bind VO to RMB

as for your other question, eruption is very good

up, down, up, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, start

edit: why is the video just a link?

this was written by irma2.. and not many people would bother with TQIT nowadays.. pretty sure medea posted it here more as a backup

a build is more than just a titancalc link  :-[

weapon users are only as good as their weapons ::)

edit: only to attack single target  :-[

this looks to be the early versions of TQAE before ragnarok came.. the UI used to look like that before ragnarok.. and the bleed res getting to negative says it is AE.. at least you are free from the requires content: ragnarok curse

Apollo's Will, hydra drops a lot of jewelries

As for your original question, mantle of sa'jun all the way.. the green armor doesn't even have a suffix

also, the images look blurry at least on my tablet.. but the armor of your mantle of sa'jun looks like 200+? it has 300+ armor now in the newer versions.. i don't have one but it's what tq-db says

but even with 200+ armor, mantle of sa'jun all the way

i think it's still salvageable but with shield.. even if you have invested a lot on int already, i bet a good weapon with a good vit damage + dreadful amulet of something can make a good enough hybrid.. but it's just lvl 20 so starting from scratch would be simpler and safer

what mammoth is saying is a diviner vit staff ternion
elemental ternions are still good (earth or storm)
heck even a physical ternion

but that was a half joke build  ;D

resist reduction is still good.. ternion is still good at killing.. it's the survivability that could be a problem for ternion builds because staff is 2 handed.. and high armor is not enough for AE now.. even 1k DA is considered low now (if it's your main source of survivability).. so survivability should come from something else either life steal, a reliable tank, CCs, a combination of those, whatever

edit:
Spellbinder with the aim of getting a Harrowing staff for Ternion....
why did i notice this only now.. spellbinder is spirit + defense, correct? defense that uses a staff, how wonderful O0

if you don't have ragnarok, the most annoying is probably this

don't know if mac and console have the same curse

I'm a bit surprised at that info that the average age of gamers is older now.. from what i see, there are lots of young gamers who love mobile Freemium games.. or maybe they did not include mobile Freemium gamers in that research

hello kalimon we have a new home :)

i do remember your side quest guide.. the only change i know is the gargantuan yeti quest

now if I'm not mistaken you are also blindoldeman, am i correct? ;)

i hope there is a way to get ragnarok on mac.. be careful with the console ports.. there are lots of people saying it's broken.. hope the devs there can fix the bugs

just saw this on the AE changelog:

- Horus' Refuge: Doubled Elemental Damage bonus

so it was around before AE but with 40% elem damage.. lol still weird

Does this even drop in game though? I have never seen it.
yes it does.. i have at least 2 of these.. i can imagine this can be a good option for a pure elemental runesmith.. maybe for str + int casters also.. the thing is, if I'm not mistaken, this item was around even before AE.. so str doesn't affect spells yet and there was no runesmith yet.. I'm not sure anymore but maybe someone can confirm
