Horse Rider Mod (WIP)

Alright, I as about to keep this a secret, but... what's the point? I want to show you something that I'm working on last two days.
One of my modding dreams has become reality, thanks to @koderkrazy :

Spoiler for Hiden:
Without his Bone Renamer tool this wouldn't be possible. Only 3 animations are done for now - run, idle and walk (replaces unarmed run). Took me half day to make the run one look decent, but I think it was worth it  8)
I won't post the tool here, that's up to koderkrazy.

If someone wants to test ingame, here is the early alpha:

Note: I split the topic to not spam the tutorial with offtopic.

I split the topic to not spam the tutorial. Started the weapon animations today. Horse archery is done, I'll make the melees next. Btw, for anyone who wants to try combining animations, here is a tip - don't start animating the male first. I made this mistake and now I have to tweak most animations. Female is thinner and the mesh reacts differently, it easier for male mesh to copy female than the opposite.

Almost all base weapon animations are done. In the meanwhile, a new concept of a mounted Scythian/Sarmatian Amazon (it was common for Scythian tribes to fight from a horseback):

it looks good.. but now i wonder, what if you're using short swords? will it even reach the enemy when you're on horseback? i think the shortest is the dagger when starting out a lvl 1 character.. i wonder how the animation would look like :))

Dual wield will probably be disabled, as it is in the leopard rider mod. About Warwind, I'll try to think up something...

I think you should refer to some Age of Empires game's cavalry animation( AoE2 is the best, i think). Fight enemies on a side, and all original animation still can be use( just make character turn upper body to a side, left or right).

I don't think turning on the horse is possible to make with the combiner. It all depends on already existing animations.
Closest animation to the age of Empires cavalry in TQ are the centaurs. I agree its the best looking, but I'm unable to combine it yet, without the spear/sword going through the horse head.

Look like this mod make character faster in movement, i think movement speed like original is still good though :D
I hope we can run this mod with full weapons animation, it will be more awesome  >:D
I mean, include Dualwield and shield animation  :))
And there is minor issue at character display in character windows, there is not display character's head :D

For those interested - i'm continuing the work on this mod. Added alot of missing animations today, and fixed an issue where projectiles were going through the character without hitting. Turns out player characters dont have hitboxes, and i had to import one from a mounted neanderthal.
A small preview of the changes:



This is still very much WIP. For now it's just a database replacement, some animations have wrong speed, character does not fit in inventory window, etc.
