Progress from Saiga:
My feeling about Act 5 is that it is tedious with Xmax because of densely populated areas. And got some performance issues in badly optimized zones (troll camps, war camps).

I really do wish there was a fix for this, Act 5 xmax became unplayable for mage hardcore on my old i3 rig, unless you pulled and cleared at snail pace. There wasn't even a chance of running past the horde. Even with me upgrading to a new rig (i7 7700, 16 gb RAM, GTX 1080) im still getting stutters and half a second freezes/lags during gameplay.

@Tauceti gj on progress man... hope you clear the challenge, might boost my motivation to grind again. :D Having too much fun with Darkest Dungeon at the moment...

Um, interesting gasconron.  I haven't noticed any lag with my old PC, but have only run through the expansion once so far in normal play.  I have an LoC Wanderer in there at the moment and some quests seem to be bugged as BG hasn't updated his mod for Ragnarok yet, but so far it's been smooth.  I just got a new rig too, quite close to yours I think, so will be interesting to see if I do have problems when I get an Xmax toon that far.  Won't be for a couple of weeks though since I'm off on holiday tomorrow so no machine to play on. Everyone keep posting their progress though and I'll update when I get back.  :)

@MedeaFleecestealer Yes the 2 other items come from Ragnarok. It seems they are common since with another toon they dropped 2 or 3 times already.
Btw have a good trip  ;)

@gasconron Thanks, we 'll see. I guess Epic is the best moment for a Xmax toon, due to Xp gained its skills are maxed or so,  the same for gear, and bosses are still fairly doable. About act 5, as you say, i don't think it's possible (or safe)  to bypass warcamps. I forgot water spirits, very annoying, in that particular case i took a summon scroll or other to speed up things.

Update for Saiga:
This time the pull of Barmanu was clean. During act 3 i made some respec in order to make a larger use of dark covenant (because of ternion spamming). In late act 3 i also nearly maxed Spirit ward and bane. There's nothing more thrilling than rushing a whole pack of gilded deads in wusao, and inded 3xDragon Liche  ;D Typhon on the other hand was more difficult.

Legendary items drops:
Spoiler for Hiden:
Griefmaker
Rod of the Ancients
Hector's spear
Silence
Battlemage greaves
Bone bracers

Progress:
Yunah (Thane) 59, Epic Rhakotis

I used to blaze through Epic before, but with the new XP scaling it seems there's a lot more incentive to take your time in Epic and farm up XP-wise.
It's been 10+ years and I still don't know the Telkines names by heart and still refer to them as Telk 1, 2 & 3... :D

Update for Saiga: lvl 70 in Corinth
Funny enough that 4 eyes dropped from gree sisters in epic whereas 3 should be the max a priori...
Act 4 was going well (still no dactyl, waooooh  ;D), taking care of not getting stuck by Hades.

Legendary items drops:
Spoiler for Hiden:
Chromatic staff
Eidolon shield
Jade shuriken *
Spinebreaker
Visor of the shadowlord
Reach of helios
Crystalline bracers
Crystalline greaves

All these items are lvl 40-44 required, that is what we can expect in late epic, except Jade shuriken which is a Ragnarok item lvl 58 required !

Progress for Saiga  lvl 73 Diviner (Helios)
Act 5 was really long since it took time to clean the way especially in late act. Leveling was going well, but got a close call with Loki though.
I take a break with the toon, the gate to legendary is now open wooooh  ;D

Actually, this kind of fight is a threat for me because i can't decide before how to deal with it: there is a random side about how the 3xLoki spawn at once.

In this fight, the pets drawed the attention of one Loki no more. Therefore, the 2 others were on me and there is so little room to kit. Anyway when i saw Saiga's life was falling to 1/3, i decided to stop kitting and begin to melee fight. Hopefully ternion + attack conversion to health worked well and life was replenished. That was the way to go.

After the fight was finished, i realised that i didn't use distort reality (so i can't answer your question but it's very unlikely that petrify would work on Loki), nor Dark covenant or circle of power: i badly played this fight under pressure, but ... well it worked so thanks to the class  diviner

Well done gasconron.  Moving along nicely.  :)

Hopefully will be getting back into the game soon.  Testing is nearly done on the latest GD patch so all being well that should be out next week Zantai said.

I kinda miss GD too but never really got motivated enough to play it again after finishing my Ultimate Hardcore run on Warder and Battlemage.
Still have a line of entries there, but I really doubt they'll get far in Ultimate due to the way they were set up.
That game isn't as forgiving as TQ when it comes to build experimentation vs. HC clear capability.

Well, I've only got the one toon to L100 and still haven't quite finished the game yet.  But then I've only ever gotten 8 toons to the end of TQIT in 10 years of playing that.  Too many build ideas.  I don't think I'd risk GD hardcore with my builds anyway.  I sometimes play Veteran, but that's as "risky" as I get.  ;D  Looking forward to the 2nd expansion of course and this new game mode Zantai's been talking about.  Hopefully we'll hear something more about that later this month or in June.

Going back to Saiga, lvl 74 diviner in Rhakotis (legendary)
As noticed before, act1 is simpler to deal with than act 5 on the previous difficulty mode.
It remains that Act 1 is an exciting act, full of boss and fun to play.
