Hello everyone.
I was looking for answers to some of my question regarding how the community likes to play Titan Quest.
This is a quick survey for me to know your preferences. I'm accumulating answers for a future project.
Thanks for your time, and enjoy your day. https://goo.gl/forms/Nt4QNHSHmC5AvqdW2

I think its better to use this from code. just post is as option on which user can click, make for each question at least 20 copies of ord , depends on how many members you believe that they will join so they can vote with single click. Just another option, don't like 3rd party to follow.

I appreciate the time you took to respond.

Done. This smells like a mastery mod... :P

@nargil66 You caught me :p

Thanks everyone ^^
It is almost unanimous, you all love passives :D
-
It should be balanced. On Destinies happen that you pick caster, but there is nothing useful from spells. I think each mastery should have at least 5 spells to cast, 1 for left and 1 right click, 2-3 active auras, at least 1 pet and not more than 3 which should be for 1-2 mastery, not for all...

i haven't voted yet :)
but i am away from the game at the moment and i don't see myself playing this game or mods in the near future so i haven't taken your survey yet
but if it counts, i agree it should be balanced
edit: but i don't necessarily mean same number of passives/actives on each mastery.. it could be 1 or 2 masteries specializing on passives and another 1 or 2 specializing on actives
-
I like left and right skill, (a strong attack and a disable), maybe one "free" passive, and more with a small energy maintenance cost and/or need to renew. Say three more active skills, including the heavy powered ones for bosses/ high end groups. (I love Guild Wars 1 which tends to use almost a full hand of active skills, including energy management ones.)
I liked trying for a special pet build, with damage on both sides (champion wolves) , but haven't really fancied using them (yet) on my other builds. I like each one to be completely different. Same with weapons, I'm thinking I shouldn't have made a choice there on your survey, though I did.

I'm curious to know what do you mean about a "free" passive?

I have a tendency to play with 2 bows. Occasionally a staff. One bow for damage to second for recovery if needed.
Have played this way for years because of my slowness. Lots of passives for the same reason.
Interesting survey

might as well contribute :)
but i want to explain some of my answers so I'll just answer here
1) i mostly play casters.. AoE spellcasters to be exact.. but i want my casters to have enough survivability so i don't have to do too much retreating.. i hate dying
but i also like to explore weird builds.. however that may mean
2) 4
3) long range AoE with 2 or more CCs
4) i use pets but i mostly want them only as distractions or to provide buffs.. i don't like just standing around waiting to open bone piles
5) uhhh whatever helps my build i guess.. 1, 2, 3, gazillion
6) that's the beauty of spellcasters :) .. damage can come from anywhere.. but i like it one-handed so it's not one less item slot
-
It's very interesting to see the tastes of everyone. The sample is still small but I notice some trends.
A majority of the people who took the survey seem to appreciate pets and passives. Curious :p

well you know us, / lazy mode :D

I wanted multiple choice on the weapons too. I put staves, but I like bows and clubs just as much. :)
-
And yes, each mastery should support 2 types of weapons, range and melee. We should make a list of all possible weapons and maybe to update with more weapons?
-
I thought one weapon type was fair... oh well.
Also, nobody has throwing weapons as their favorites. Now that surprises me...
-
me thinks different.. i dislike weapon specialization because it just locks you to that type of weapon.. which is why defense is my least favorite because it locks you to a shield.. how about you add another tab in the skills page where every class can access it? just like grim dawns devotion tab but this one contains weapon specializations and perhaps other passives maybe like higher energy regen? every class has access to that 3rd tab
edit: like sword mastery, axe mastery, etc.
edit 2: at least that could mean on legendary we don't have to spend our skill points on meh skills

Uh? You want me to add a sort-of Devotion system to TQ?
Lol, I'm a rookie modder! It would be fun, but I'm not the man that can do it. ;D
-
awww i don't know anything about modding too and have zero ideas on what is difficult and what is not ;D
-
efko, do you mean you want to make a page listing all weapons and perhaps all items? that would be cool.. i would be willing to contribute be it notes or images
-
WNG - No, I was thinking something like Ways (Way of this, of that...), so each mastery can have 1 for ranged and 1 for melee, so optionally player can use it. Only problem with this is switching weapons disable ways, and that's bad.
Page with weapon specialization seems very nice, if someone know how to make it.
About page listing all weapons, that would be hard.

That's what I was speaking of in my earlier post; botebote suggested it but this is something way beyond my capabilities.
As for trees that specializes into a specific weapon, I guess it could work if it fits the theme of the mastery.

They're okay and for something like the Bladeflinger Magician they're fun when coupled with the Throwing Knife skill, but I wouldn't choose them over a bow because I don't like their shorter throwing distance.
-
I agree with Medea, the throw knives while nice are no match for a bow. I lost everything to IPersist, so I did a refresh and lost every thing. Started playing Croc's Avenger, was playing with a low level bow. Found a loaded throwing hatchet, was moving along fine until I met Polyphemos. Because I had too get close, I was stunned and had my butt handed to me. Went back to try again, he didn't stop at the end of the bridge this time but kept coming. He chase me around until I crossed the bridge and headed for the beach. Never did kill him. I wont make that mistake again.

Actually, I'm getting mixed up between passive like volativity, and sustained like earth enchantment. So I suppose I prefer some cost, most of the time, either set it and forget it or the boss-killers.
In practice though, I never look a passive gift horse in the mouth.
And I agree about knives and bosses, though maybe it's something that needs practice. Either long range or close up seemed the only way to go with Polyphemos. (heh, I meleed him to death on with my epic stonespeaker, saving the lives of two soldiers. Encouraged by that , my fledgling hoplite stuck close and took him down.)
-
Ah, I see.
Well in the survey, Volativity would be considered a passive and Earth Enchantement an aura.

A special thanks to everyone who answered the survey!
As nargil66 figured earlier, I might go for a mastery mode, and the data acquired will be very valuable! I'm unsure if I will actually make it to the end, as it is going to take a while to finish. But if it ever has to happen, I will let you know.
Anyways, thanks everyone!
