after all these years...
« on: 28 August 2018, 05:34:26 »
Hi all,

I just got back into playing TQ after a hiatus of several years - the Anniversary Edition is excellent. A shame to see what happened to the old forums, but like a phoenix from the ashes, here we are!

I used to be pretty active on the old forums, wrote a side quest guide which was the proudest of all my gaming achievements as a 14 year old! Shout out to Medea Fleecestealer, I still remember your name after all these years from the help on writing the Side Quest guide.

I do have a couple of questions. I play on Mac, using PaulTheTall's port (brilliant, btw), and was wondering if there is any online multiplayer compatibility, and if there is any chance to get the Ragnarok DLC while playing on Mac?

Finally, is bleeding damage still rubbish on Legendary? I'm going to do a Warlock play through next and unsure about whether to incorporate Throwing Knives.

It's great to see some familiar usernames - I've been here 5 minutes and i've already seen botebote and some others I recognise from the old days. I'm looking forward to getting stuck back in.

Great to be back, all the best,

Kalimon

Welcome back, kalimon! I'll never forget your "Side Quest Guide". It was that good. :)

The fact that you wrote it when you were only 14, unknown to me ^^, makes it a even better.

Welcome to our new home kalimon.  :)  Saw you'd registered this morning.  I just added the Side Quest and Caravan speeches stuff to the forum here the other day.  You'll find it down in the IT General Discussion section.  I might need to move it to the Guides and Tutorials section though.

You on the other hand might need to do an updated version for AE/Ragnarok if you can get it working.  ;)

And if you haven't for some weird and crazy reason tried Grim Dawn, TQ's spiritual successor, out yet - well what's stopping you?  It's another great game and the forum's pretty good too if I do say so myself.

Thanks all, good to be back and to see you Croc and Medea!

I would love to extend it for Ragnarok but unfortunately I can't get the DLC on Mac :( i'm thinking of getting Titan Quest on my PS4 when Ragnarok comes out on PS4, but i'm shuddering at all the hours of lost farming i'm going to miss.

And likewise for Grim Dawn, it's not out on Mac :(

That's true.  It will be coming out on Xbox if you have that though.

Yes! That's my Reddit name, I basically just use it for the gaming subs. Yeah i've heard that the ports aren't polished enough yet, that there are responsiveness issues and a few other things like not being able to skip speeches (i'm shuddering thinking about Diomedes' early game monologue aha).

I like the idea of Grim Dawn but I much prefer the mythological setting to the apocalyptic setting - same reason I prefer Elder Scrolls to Fallout.

How does Ragnarok compare to the other Acts? Is it really essential? And how good is the Runemaster Mastery, cos I know that when they released Dream it was pretty OP?

Cheers guys, I know this is so wet but I missed these forums, I don't think i've ever found a gaming fan community anywhere close to the standard of the Titan Quest family.

1st of all welcome to new foruns! hope you enjoy the ride :D!

The new act is pretty big, like act 4+ act 2 lenght combine, i like it, it have new cool music, new stuff over the place, it have a option to create a lv 40 hero and start at new act right away, it will be easier to test build and rush into the game.

the runemaster is cool, its mostly a hybrid class, with alot of elemental dmg and throwing weapon class

yep, theres a new weapon type, throwing weapons, its a bit faster thans bows but it have closer range.

Once again , welcome :)

Well, the mythologies are different of course, but the game is still great and has a lot of additional things to recommend it for a try out.  And the community is also pretty friendly and welcoming since it was built on the base of those TQ.net members who signed up early on and brought that mindset with them which Medierra encouraged and still does.  You'll find a lot of us over there too like Asylum101, mamba, sauruz, Soulseekkor, etc. And hey they made me a moderator there earlier this year so it can't be all bad - can it?  ;)
