Title: Titan Quest Lives On
Post by: Flix on 09 July 2018, 23:41:23
Hi this is Flix from the old forums.  I have been playing Grim Dawn and modding Sacred 2, so at some point I completely lost track of the TQ community after titanquest.net went down.  Decided to give TQ AE a try this weekend, and as I'm Googling for Runemaster builds I end up here!  Very glad to see that these forums have sprung up, and with so many familiar faces.  Happy playing!   ^-^

Welcome back Flix, but no excuse from you please.  I know you saw the Titanquest.net thread over on GD, you even contributed to it a couple of times.  Tell the truth, you were just too lazy to join before now weren't you.  ;)

Guilty as charged!   :))  The last thing I remember was scrambling to help back up and upload all the old files/guides/mods that we could.

Anniversary Edition definitely brought me out of hiding.  Been dying to try Ragnarok.  I've got it installed alongside my old TQ Gold installation and am working on a Stonespeaker now.  I might make a thread posting build details.

Thanks for the welcome, one and all!

Lucky you.  I couldn't make AE work with TQIT installed on my old PC so I had to remove it.  Might give it a go on my new one though.

The catch is that they both want to use the same savegames-config folder (C:\Users\[username]\Documents\My Games\Titan Quest - Immortal Throne).

The trick to using both is this: I keep 2 copies of the aforementioned folder, one containing TQ Gold files and one containing TQ AE files.  When I want to switch between them I just rename the unused folder to something else.

If I didn't do this, AE tried to read the config/save data from the old TQ Gold folder, and just plain wouldn't run.

Hey Flix! welcome back!

Many thanks. It's a labor of love so the years of work poured into it come easy and fly by.

Hi Flix, welcome to our new home. TQ will continue to live on, hopefully for many more years :)

Yeah, I think that was the problem I was getting.  AE version just refused to launch when I had TQIT installed.   Not sure if it's worth me installing it now, all of my current toons are in AE so not sure they'd be viable in IT.  But then I have so many classes still to play ... !

What do you do for things like the Vault and Collector as well - because they need the pathing to work.

Hi Flix. Sadly I wasn't a member of old TQ communities, so I can't say 'welcome back'. :S

For now TQVault and TQDefiler are still set to work with my original installation.  I was under the impression they wouldn't work with AE anyway so I didn't even try.

Update on this: I found the TQVault AE you linked elsewhere and it works quite well with my old vault files.  It takes some extra steps but I can actually swap items between classic and AE characters using both Vaults.

Hey Flix  :D

Nice to see you over here, I remember you from TQ.net when I lurked around on the old forums.  Hopefully this new home will feel the same for you

There's a new version of TQVault for AE

https://github.com/EtienneLamoureux/TQVaultAE/releases

You can use Soul's GDDefiler for AE.

http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9343

Only allows some editing I believe, none of the old mods have been added yet, but it covers Grim Dawn, Titan Quest and Immortal Throne.

Thanks I got TQVault AE working, it even reads my old vault files, so I can swap items between classic and AE characters somewhat.

Quite late to the party, but anyway: Welcome back!

Still have to try Sacred 2 with the community fixes one day...
