Hmm, i found something curious yesterday. According to some sources, male tree spirits also exist in mythology... they were called Drus (literally "oak" in Ancient Greek). I haven't touched Blender for almost a week, maybe its time for a new model. Horseman animations are still very far from completion, and i need a small break. I think to start this Drus guy... and he has to look somewhat similar to the female Dryad. Expect some concepts later.

Ok, this Armor_Clothing template is amazing, really... I figured out how to make horses really "equippable" and working with all weapons.
This will probably be the task for the next version, i'll try to do it at least for the male character. Expect some previews a bit later.

I'll have to rework all player animations again ::) But is it worth it, if all weapons can work from horseback? Hell yeah!  ^-^

Edit 2 - Ok - Run, Idle, Attack Idle and AttackIdle2Idle animations are done for both characters. Remain the rest. I can't wait till they are all finished... one of my favorite games in the past was Mount&Blade, now it will finally meet TQ in a proper way.
There is only one problem with this method - you can't see your normal armors while mounted. But it is fixable for the most part by attaching new horseman armors to the rider character. Also, some MI torsos that drop from mounted monsters can be turned to dedicated horseman armors... will see.

The new version is uploading to Mega while i write this. Changelog:

- Fixed visible horse on Dvalinn's Simulacrum summon
- Fixed frozen female Worship animation when using a thrown weapon
- Implemented the latest Bug Fixes mod by Endymion (from 21.10.2021)
- Implemented Hardcore Mode (Permadeath mod). To play hardcore, go to Unlock Content and type code: doom (this is NOT recommended for existing and/or high-level characters!)
- Added a new amulet that changes day-night cycle on pickup (by request). Code: nyx
- Added a new skill to Rogue Mastery - Caltrops (experimental)
- Added a new ultimate skill for Storm Mastery - Thunderbird (experimental)
- Lightning Dash is now a 6th tier skill instead of 7th tier
- Added the first showcase of Illusion items (equip Illusions in torso slot to change the look of your character to a different creature or race). Current illusions are Maenad and Dryad (only female and normal difficulty for now), sold by Dionysus and Demeter (code: newskins). The illusion system is still very much WIP, consider this just a preview
- Female character's default hair is now randomly generated
- Important! There is now only one version of the mod - Custom Maps (Bounce Mod) for TQAE2.9. Xmax, 6Players, Bulgarian version and 2.10 beta patch are no longer supported (sorry its too time-consuming). The mod will be updated for 2.10 after a more official release from the devs. The good news are this will allow me to make much more frequent updates.
- Known issues: sometimes when you use an illusion your mount will become invisible. This will be addressed in future versions

Wow. You do some incredible work Nargil! One of my dreams for Titan Quest has always been to have a few different basic looks to choose from at the character selection screen. I always pictured one character from each act for male and female (i.e. adding a "generic" Egyptian and Asian character, maybe a pale underworldish appropriate character, and now maybe a Scandinavian character model. I always figured it could be done using the dye selection and just eliminate actual dyes from the game. They don't do that much anyway. But now you make me wonder if that could be implemented and still have dyes in the game.
It probably could, but not in the character selection - most of it is hardcoded and unmoddable. But ingame there will be options to customize your looks. This old/unused template i found (its called Armor_Clothing.tpl, for those who are curious) allows far more shenanigans than before...  its awesome for this purpose :D

I finished the Maenad illusion yesterday, today im working on a Dryad one. It was a bit trickier to make, but its almost done too.

Another thing - since i'm always afraid that something might happen with my comp and lose the data, i think releasing more frequent "nightly" versions of EGA is a good idea. They will be WIP and single CustomMaps version only (bounce mod), because combining with Xmax, 6Players, etc. for each small update is starting to get on my nerves. I'm not sure that i should support multiple versions and hard mod versions anymore, ill probably ditch them in the near future. Sorry if that disappoints someone, but its just too much work and too time consuming. Bumbleguppy never made a hardmod or multiple versions of his mod, and noone complained. Many players send me requests like "please merge with X" or "isolate feature X so i can play vanilla with it" but for me is very distracting and it steals time which i can use to fulfill my real modding dreams... so i'll just stop doing it.

But all is for the better, i promise you. In the least case the skin system will be unrecognizable when i'm done with it :P

Today i found something amazing among the TQ templates... something that will make my life like 100% easier when making illusions.
I want to go out and scream like Archimedes once did: "Eurika!!!". But better show you than explaining further :D

Version 2 of the mod is uploaded on Mega
- Hardcore mode is now optional. To enable it, in menu options go to "Unlock Content" and type code: doom
A knife will drop. IF you pick it up, your death will become permanent. In any other case you can play the game as usual.
- Fixed character not being able to exit to the main menu after dying
- Added more flavor to the mod
- Known Issues - If you open your inventory while your character is dying on hardcore the game will crash. So just don't do it.

Planned versions are Xmax and Player6Difficulty. I'll merge them tonight before uploading the mod on Nexus.

Ever wanted a more "legit" hardcore mode in Titan Quest? Now it's possible! In this mod if your characters die, they will stay dead. You won't be able to sell or store your items after you die, but that's pretty logical, isn't it?
Many thanks to Endymion for giving me the quest modding directions and ideas to help me make this idea reality. He gets most of the credit actually.

Installation:
1. Place the mod in your CustomMaps folder as you do with any loaded mod, then launch it from "Play Custom Quest" menu. This is not a bounce mod!
2. Watch over your skin! Your first death will also be your last  :P

Notes
1. The mod works only with the vanilla game for now. If you want to merge with Xmax or another mod, feel free to do it.
2. After you die (or if you enter the mod with a character that died in it), you won't be able to return to the main menu. Just hit Alt+F4 to close the game manually (if you play on fullscreen). Or play on windowed/borderless mode.
3. I'd appreciate if someone test and tell me if you encounter problems. The mod is still in early stage, so who knows...

Ok, sure, will be fixed for next update. Thanks for reporting the bug :)

What is done for next version:
- Improved Pan's flute prop used by Sylvan Dryad

What is left to be done:
- Fix Dvalinn's Simulacrum summon
- Include latest AFBF by Endymion
- Add a MI Falcata to the Automaton set
- Add greaves, helmet and weapon to Boarman MI set (im reworking the MI's alphabetically by game act)
- Add bow, armbands (and possibly greaves) to Centaur MI set
- Add a new skill to Rogue Mastery (already prepared, but not included)
- Add a few more hairstyles to Dryad (for fun) + skill effect while she's using her flute

I think this should keep me busy enough :) I'll update this same post with the progress, as before.

Some tweaks - added description and icon, made the caltrops bigger, changed texture and moved the mesh down so they dont float above the ground. Also made their sparkle effect to "loop" from time to time. Preview:

1. I'm not sure, it could be hardcoded. Searched for it before but couldnt find it. If you do, let me know, i'd like to modify the bars too. Texture is most probably located somewhere in IngameUI.arc. If you want to remove it, you can replace it with transparent one in your mod. I just wanted to change the color of the bars.
2. I recommend Imgur - it has share options to display the image directly in forum threads. Otherwise, just upload your post in any image sharing site, select the link in your message and use the Mona Lisa button (next to Spoiler) to display it as image.

Try setting the time to something higher than 0 (like 0.1 for example). I'm not very sure why it wouldnt work tbh.
