Console versions in 2018
« on: 14 December 2017, 22:14:53 »
Nordic have announced the game is coming to consoles next year.

https://www.gamespot.com/amp-articles/diablo-style-game-titan-quest-coming-to-switch-ps4/1100-6455631/

Wonder if it'll be better than that mobile version they made - which seems to have faded into oblivion.

So does this means that we can expect TitanQuest II soon? Around 2019 or 2020, what do you think guys?

That's nice and all but I always felt these sort of games thrived on PC. Although I do like Diablo 3 on console more than PC (other than the no internet requirement) because it felt more like Gauntlet than it did Diablo, especially with four players.

Heh my thoughts exactly.  I guess this can only be a good thing for Titan Quest in general with more attention and continued support for it, maybe TQII will be a possibility... but with Ragnarok covering Norse mythos where would THQNordic then take our beloved franchise??

Console version announced = 100% hype
...without Ragnarok = 0% hype

What is this.

Without Ragnarok... well that will be biggest fail ever related with this game. No point to release this game without Ragnarok, or they had to go with console version, then to wait few months and then to go with Ragnarok.

That may be the plan efko.  Certainly there are still plenty of bugs/corrections that need to be done in the expansion so maybe work most of them out before throwing it at the console crowd.

I'm sure there's more to the Hellenic mythos that can be worked with, like the actual Titanes Theoi (Typhon wasn't one of those, "just" a monster). Of course, you're talking to someone who thinks the end boss of Act IV should have been Iapetos (Titan, associated with death...IronLore missed an opportunity there). I also wonder about Slavic lore...assuming you can find enough whose surviving records haven't been colored by Christian-era precepts, anyway. Mesopotamian mythos being actually represented (why'd we get Chimera, rather than Mushussu, in the Temple of Marduk?) would also be good.

another confirmed myth geek here

as for why not iapetos.. maybe because the storyline of TQ is after the events of titanomachy.. chimera, maybe because chimera is more popular than mushussu.. but then again, why use the names donar and wodan instead of thor and odin?

btw, whenever i read skyknight, i keep thinking skynet from terminator.. are you sure you're not an artificial intelligence net bot from the future intending to assassinate someone?

My brother in geekness... :D Chimera would actually fit perfectly, if they added ancient Phrygia - we get Phrygian armors, its a real miss they didn't add the kingdom itself (maybe on the way to Babylon?). Thank you for pointing out Mushussu, it's a creature I didn't knew about. From the pictures it seems that if you take Chimera and just delete the lion and goat head from the mesh, it will look kinda like Mushussu... Gosh, even Manticore is more suitable for a Persian boss than Chimera...
Abiut the Titans, it would be great if you fought several real Titans instead of Typhon. Also, they add Typhon, but not Echidna? What a miss...

Honestly, how can you mess up a game so badly?
