Thanks. Yes, that’s what was needed.

Armor, right I thought that was the case, wanted to double check.
Psionic touch wasn’t starting up when I switched to the Necromancers staff, and the same again when I used a blue staff. I think I’ve figured it out. They were in the 2nd (alternative) weapon slots. When I took the Mages and the Blue both out of the slots and switched them around, The Blue (slots 1) worked fine, the Mages (slots2) not.
I’m using iOS version, I don’t know if that is significant.

After picking up some nice items I have started a staff mage in tandem with my warrior. I am mainly following Dream tree at the moment, and have maxed psionic touch. It works well with my Staff of Magi + Prometheus, or any stick I've picked up, but does not respond to my Necromancers staff+Zesus. Magi has fire+burn damage, Necromancer has (mucn more) lightening damage +electrical burn (+50% against undead). Is there a factor I'm overlooking?
Another question, is elemental and other non physical damage affected by the foe's armour, ie is Ravages of Time (spirit) any use for this build?

Aw, that’s harsh! DiD but still....no excuses at all? I realise that my War throwing isn’t what I expected....it doesn’t feed Onslaught unfortunately. I’ll keep heading for that life drain.

Hah. “Legendary” doesn’t mean Old in this  game so I do have Hades et al to look forward too. I am taking your advice on board and am limiting common Active skills. I’ve started with a sword&board (War)and am moving to duel throwing/melee weapons. My stats tend to be gear driven, though have been volunteering strength points. When I get a sniff of the katanas, no doubt I’ll get obsessed with weapon speed and dex.
Think I’ll pick up Spirit (I’ve already got a thrower/Dream) and Ravages of Time once I’ve moved into the duel chain.  So I don’t know where that leaves Intelligence?
Did you have much trouble with Typhon with your Warlock?

I am completely happy with movement control on my iPad compared to mouse. What would be right mouse (Warhorn-just-wait-ok) is -alright- with not too many misfires on the closest button.  Skirmishing style works fine, though I’ll definitely stay away from targeting. Graphics and loading etc has been great.

Hi. How is everyone finding this version? My main question is, are there builds that would be  better/worse to manipulate around my (newish) iPad? Maybe the Ternion staff build I abandoned in Greece through boredom.
It’s been a fair while since I’ve played, about 5 characters scattered from Greece 1 to Hades 2. Still haven’t played Atlantis. My PC is broke, I’m missing Skyrim and have tried out quite a few iOS games this past fortnight. I think 9thDawn3 is a keeper, and hoping TQ may be another. Sure going to miss my TQVault, and Hades too!
Might start with a tank, don’t do strength builds a lot, anywhere, hopefully won’t need finger finesse.

Thank you for digging this up

- Stone Form is a life-saviour when I’m cornered. At least when used properly. 2 Rules concerning Stone Form:

# Never use it if you haven’t a good casting speed. How many times did I die when trying to cast it? Countless times! At least if you have 0 casting speed cast it in advance, never at the last second, ‘cos you’ll regret it I can assure you,

I had ignored casting speed, assumed the split second delay was keyboard lag, or something. But lately, I have something with reduced casting speed on it, and stone form is cooperating with my reflexes better (such as they are)

General Discussion / Re: [Survey] How do you play Titan Quest

I like left and right skill, (a strong attack and a disable), maybe one "free" passive, and more with a small energy maintenance cost and/or need to renew. Say three more active skills, including the heavy powered ones for bosses/ high end groups. (I love Guild Wars 1 which tends to use almost a  full hand of active skills, including energy management ones.)
I liked trying for a special pet build, with damage on both sides (champion wolves) , but haven't really fancied using them (yet) on my other builds.  I like each one to be completely different. Same with weapons, I'm thinking I shouldn't have made a choice there on your survey, though I did.

I'm curious to know what do you mean about a "free" passive?

Actually, I'm getting mixed up between passive like volativity, and sustained like earth enchantment. So I suppose I prefer some cost, most of the time, either set it and forget it or the boss-killers.
In practice though, I never look a passive gift horse in the mouth.

And I agree about knives and bosses, though maybe it's something that needs practice. Either long range or close up seemed the only way to go with Polyphemos. (heh, I meleed him to death on with my epic stonespeaker, saving the lives of two soldiers. Encouraged by that , my fledgling hoplite stuck close and took him down.)

Whew! I've just beaten Manticore with my sword and board, the first boss I've struggled with since Olympus Typhon, and since then, I haven't upgraded my ranged damage. It took a lot of dying, and I lost a few tombstones too.
I like going into new things cold, so last session I just went splat. This time I watched the videos, upgraded my resists and went down for round 2.  And did a lot more watching his emotes as I hid under the rock, between dyings.
What worked was, run in when he didn't look like pouncing, throw a Seal of Fate (have a lot of points in aftershock) , start whacking until the pounce, Stoneform, on waking, throw a SoF for luck and RUN AWAY, until Stoneform is recharged, and repeat. Took another couple of deaths until it worked with three cycles.

I'm pretty hopeless at dodging and fighting, which is why I decided to stick close. If it didn't work, I would have respec'ed to boost Eruption and the primary volcanic orb and tried to keep clear.

Congrats for doing so well. I'm finding knives not that great. With such short range, might as well be melee.
I haven't played any lately as get ready to go to my home in Florida. Like to spend my summers with my son in Tennessee.
Wont get back at it until mid August

Thanks! Enjoy your summer in the real world.  :)

Yes, the last level up, I put more points in heat shield, as I was in the fire zone. I was worried tooI wouldn't kill stuff there, me relying on a lot of fire damage, but obviously my fires trumped theirs!
I am now a real fan of stone form, that is what carried me through the last few bosses.

My  stonespeaker has conquered normal Ragnorak. I am happy with the way he has tanked and vanquished all the quest bosses as a sword and boarder (except 1st Typhon of course). I tried to keep focused on weapon damage, orbit and erupt were cast adjacent to him .
In the last level of fire, I reluctantly replaced his sabertooth for a dverg longsword which dropped attack speed from 180 to 160, but raised resting dps from 430 to 490. I could catch 1600 dps during a fight, I think 1900 was the max I caught.
I stuck with the Outrider shield for its attack speed, though I recently replaced a rogue armor with
thaithes vest, which was a very happy drop for me.
Stats are 137:308:296 (str int dex) with 46 spare.
I'm looking forward to the challenge of the next round, still contemplating the direction to take the skills. Gearwise, I guess it's keeping my resists up to scratch, trying to bring dps to 200, and then looking at energy gear for energy armor.  We'll see.

+2 gear skill points

Suggestions and pot shots welcome  ;D

Guides AE / Re: ↜ Hunting Mastery by WNG ↝
« on: 22 July 2018, 06:26:21 »
Thank you, I did enjoy reading this. I have a bow hunter in normal "waiting" on Undead Typhon, until I finish my affair with my stonespeaker.
I did take ensnare (rmb) , being a good newbie defence in sparta, and I've never stopped using it. I've maxed it, and half heartedly put points in barbed too. Anything that immobilizes  clusters of machae and malinoe for 5secs must be good, if you're a sniper like me.
I've only put 1+ skill in scattershot, because of its bad press. On your recommendation, I'll try it out more.
I think I only put 1+ skill in the first tier marksman too, again because of what other people say. Do you notice a difference?
I maxed herbal, one of those effects you notice when it lapses.
I'm half way through maxing the Nature mastery, solely (well the energy points aren't bad either  :P ) to get refresh to power up CoH, which I've maxed for bosses.
Some people say Monster Lure is very useful at higher levels?
