Defiler mods are no actual mods in terms of mods that we run through "play custom game".

Those are modifications in the game's binaries and therefore far apart from what you do using the modding tools. Some of these could be created by using the tools but most of them would be a lot work and would disable you from playing online with people who do not use the same changes.

So if you want to get those working what you really want to learn is debugging / reverse engineering which is much more complex than modding.

Some of those modifications will be a lot work and some are propably relatively simple. Freeze time per day and scroll stacking are probably easy to find and change while stuff like changing filters will be a whole lot more work to find and change.

Other Modifications / Re: Invisible markers for Camera Mods

I rather thought about cloud like effects lifted up above the ground and far distance environment through either maps that limit the view or in worst case a 2d bitmap, which is why I said it would probably be to much work...

Unpack the ressource files and stick them into the database folder in your TQIT install directory. They'll override the default ones and therefore be activated all the time.

That only works as long as there are no database changes required as you otherwise need to update the main database which will make you unable to keep playing online with someone who does not use the same modification.

Installation and Tools / Re: ArtManager 1.6.exe Error
« on: 16 March 2018, 17:54:27 »
It doesn't support any other gameversion than TQIT v 1.1.

With anniversary / later some functions faced a remake and therefore do not match the function signature the 1.6 version expects and therefore throw that error.

What you see in that error is a decorated c++ function that now has a different function signature. The reason this looks so cryptic is that in c++ function names will be changed to this "decorated" variant to make function overloads possible.

TQSource editor is no more supported. You better remove it from the list as it's just going to lead to confusion.

Art Manager 1.6 only works with vanilla TQIT (v 1.1), no versions after that.

The sky thing could probably be fixed if you go through the hassle to edit the entire map and add sky and far distance environment but that's going to be way to much work to bother doing it just to make it look "less ugly".

As for 2 & 3, those are hardcoded and probably correspond to the ingame camera view distance as the game probably uses some form of vector loading which only loads the currently in camera visible part in a certain range that was hardcoded for the camera.

If you put your character high up in the sky you will have a fully loaded map inside a certain range which you can look through and have anything loaded correctly so I assume the view vector of the camera is what's limiting that part.

Other Modifications / Re: Potions and such
« on: 16 March 2018, 17:19:32 »
You can change the amount of hp the potion will regenerate in general as well as a percentage to which it will jump immediatelly once you used it, the same goes for energy. Also you can create potions that grant gold, skill / attribute or experience points. Unfortunatelly you can't set a duration for this though.

Simply go to records/items/miscellaneous/oneshot/ and pick one of the files inside and open it. When you click the "Bonus" knot on the left all the above mentioned entries should show up on the right side.

Also since those are oneshot items you might have to modify all of the type you're editing to the same delay in order to change their cooldown as this is some strange property that some oneshot items have. Not sure whether that applies to potions though. For scrolls it does...

Installation and Tools / ARC Encryptor: Archivetool GUI
« on: 09 February 2018, 15:57:36 »

About

Arc Encryptor is a GUI for the game's archivetool that lets you pack and unpack .arc files.

Installation

Simply download and unzip it into your game's main installation directory. By default it should be:

Code: [Select]
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Titan Quest Anniversary Edition

The tool is not gonna work if it's not in the game installation folder as it makes use of the archivetool.exe which makes use of several other dlls from that folder, too.

Download

General Discussion / Re: Your favourite quote in Titan Quest?
« on: 08 February 2018, 22:51:49 »
"You can not pickup that" - greek bandit

More seriously:
"The beast have claws and tooth but you have fire, you have bolts to throw and I...I have things to sell you" - magician vendor in Knossos

Actually in my opinion most of the vendors have the best dialogs in the game ;D

General Discussion / Re: Your Titan Quest Story
« on: 08 February 2018, 22:38:19 »
For me everything started about 10 years ago when I first saw the original Titan Quest on a school mate's computer.

I loved staffs so much i kept bothering him all the time that he should use them and since he would purposedly always use swords it got me so frustrated that i bought the game myself just to be able to play using a staff.

On my first run I tried to get past megara but always failed on the way to the cyclop and got frustrated after about 10 tries so much that I donwloaded a trainer and ran through the entire rest of the game using it. Later on I discovered that legitimate playing can be fun, too :P

One year later i started playing online and discovered the modding world which finally kept me here until now and also set the base as to how i got involved into informatics and studying exactly that right now.

Around the world / Re: What do potions taste like?
« on: 08 February 2018, 22:10:14 »
I'd suppose the red ones taste somewhat like a mix of alcohol and herbs - maybe similar to "jägermeister" as for the blue potions i'd agree on something along the lines of what NeonimusX wrote.
