I'm trying to change the texture paths that are attached to a mesh (I don't want to change the texture itself, just the path). What is the best tool for that ?
I don't see any way of doing that with MeshView.
Should I use Mesh Parse, MeshDrawCS ?

Has anyone managed to use Bitmap creator ? Despite following the tutorial, it doesn't display 3D models of items. I've got the list of items on the left panel (records\item\equipmentxxx...), and when I double-click on one of them, it says "load error".
What do you use to make skill or bitmap icons anyway ?

Here's a quick update on souls, feel free to comment.
Note that values are randomized, so sometimes a soul of a higher difficulty level can give less of a bonus if bad luck occurs, even if I defined an increasing value throughout the difficulties.
I will add in yellow the % chance of activation in the description of triggered skills.
I will need to add level requirements for the souls.
For Ljotgard the Bright, there should be a line with Bonus to pets : +10/12,5/15% Elemental damage, but it doesn't display. I'll have to check on this.

Yes. I received some help from WNG with affixes, I had some other people offering help but nothing concrete for now.
Most needed are new heroes + souls and elite monsters.
New drive is finally up, I can now resume modding.

This skill has qualifying weapons : sword, axe, mace. Maybe the boar can't use it because he lacks a weapon ?
In these cases, try to find some other monster that behave the same way, for reference.
For instance, beetles in act 5 have a charge skill (xpack2/skills/monster/beetle_charge)

Some bad news : my hard drive just crashed on Saturday, and I almost lost a lot of my work. Hopefully I could recover the drive, following a long process, but it's dying. Anyways I made some backups and bought a new drive.
Always back up your files, guys. You never know. From now on, I'll make a save on an external HDD and another on mega.nz or some other cloud site, each week at least.

Here is the first new soul (all 3 screens taken in normal diff). I still have to figure out the differences in health for the valkyrie, it should be smaller (2670/2820/2970)

So I'm trying to import back all resources (textures ingame, uibitmap, etc.) contained in .arc files from the old Soulvizier mod.
It's OK when the .arc file has a different name from the TQ:AE .arc files. I can put these in the Resources directory of the game.

But what to do when you have the same name between a SV .arc and a TQ:AE .arc ? How to merge these ? I don't have the sources of the files inside the .arc (tga, or dds, etc.). This is the case for Items.arc at least.
I could try to revert .tex to tga or dds and then import to my mod. But is it the best way to do it, knowing that I don't want to modify these files ? I only want the game to be able to use them.

I tried another option : using ARC Encryptor, merging Items.arc (from the Nordic game) with the corresponding Items.arc from Soulvizier. I extracted all files, merged them in a directory (Items\subdirectories), then repacked with ARC Encryptor.
But it fails, because ARC Encryptor doesn't create an arc structure like this : Items.arc\subdirectories\. It gives me Items.arc\items\subdirectories  ("items" being the name of the directory where the subdirectories are).
How can you get this to work ?


Aside from this, is there an easy way to convert back .tex files to source files ? Either if these are .tex used for bitmaps or are applied to a mesh ?

I can't really be of assistance on this matter, but maybe if you describe step by step what you did, and what exactly you modified in the .dbr (what lines, etc.), that would help.

I can't recall the name of the armor but it fits, with bare chest.
I was about to propose more muscles but I wasn't sure you could do it only by changing the texture (no mesh modification).

Other ideas :
- add (red) tatoos to his skin.
- reskin to remove/add beard, etc. To make him more different from the base male PC.
- pretty obvious, but increase his size. Bigger means more important.
