I think epic had always been simpler than normal because you had functional build by that time, while monsters weren't really dangerous yet.

The only one I know of that always one-shots me that I can't dodge no matter what is Hades with all that vitality damage.
Sounds like you need demon's blood on jewellery, or even two of them normal ones, to cap vit resist. Hades has one oneshot move well telegraphed, and then the rest of his attacks aren't dangerous given you have appropriate resist and health pool.

What is your melee diviner main stat, str or int? Is it physical or vitality damage based? In case it is int/vitality you are really missing on distort reality, and temporal rift too. Combined with necrosis it is a killer skill even if on relatively long cooldown with no -recharge items.

Titan Quest main game story is crazy enough on its own so why would I complain about even more of that? I wouldn't assume people here play ARPGs for the story.

Now I'm hardly a specialist in the field and whatever I read on it was quite some time ago. But from what I remember Ragnarok is described as quite a draw, with both sides completely destroying each other. New devs however managed to create a story where poor aces are being completely wiped out by giants, unless you the hero aid them.

No its not a complain, after seing Jade Emperor talking about titans and olympians with a straight face I am ready for anything, its just gets hilarious sometimes.

Mythology does not go well with logic which is not unique to scandinavian one. By mythology, valkyries take the souls of fallen warriors to Valhalla in an effort to prepare for the final battle - ragnarok. New developers only added to this with their portal plot, it gives you the feeling of Asgard being threatened by superior forces, and the only thing the giants really need to win is a proper debuff (mistletoe) and a timely defence breach (portal). Recruiting human souls for the fight didn't help either, whoever came up with the idea of relying on them must be not very good at planning

If they have to rally another world to protect their own. And the only thing their opponent really needs is a well placed portal (defence breach)

I think turning immunities as high resistances into damage absorption went a little too far on the example of ice giants in Jotunheim. These are nearly immune to ice shards skill. Good thing storm mastery also has lightning but I don't want to know how earth mastery performs in Muspelheim.

There are werewolf mobs in Jotunheim that seem to have some of the highest melee damage I have seen in game. They have a double swing attack that they use on you immediately and that appears to be the source of damage spikes. It is two hits technically so heal on low health artifacts have a chance to proc. They are easy to avoid with slow or skills like the new briar ward, but you don't want to be cornered by 2 of them still. Like when teleporting from Mimir to the surface, if you logged out prior to that and the area was repopulated.
