Android/Console / Re: Controller Support Question

Controller support just got even better ....  there is an alternative control set from within options and also if you can access it a configurable text file for which buttons on the controller do what,

OK... So I bought an xbox series x/s controller and I can tell you it is great.

Gameplay is much easier and spellcasting, even switching to secondary spells, is a much easier system.

It is easier to toggle turning items on the ground on/off with a controller too!

About the only thing that is slightly more clunky is inventory management... But even that is simple when you realise you can switch between controller and touchscreen just by touching the screen.  So when I'm selling to a merchant I touch the screen and when I'm finished I just touch the controller stick to move and it switches me back to controller.

This all means my tablet can also be plugged in whilst playing without the cable being in the way or it causing touchscreen issues.

If I find anything else noteworthy then I'll edit this post to add it.

I just found this video on Youtube that will give us all a good idea of how controllers will work with the game.

Android/Console / Controller Support Question
« on: 10 May 2021, 14:31:54 »
Hi,

I currently play on my Samsung Tablet S7 and I'm considering buying either an Xbox One controller or Steelseries Stratus Duo controller so I can play more easily than holding my tablet.  I've tried a Google search for info and apart from a picture from handy games showing a slightly different ui I can't find any reviews or info on actually using a controller apart from it now being supported.

Has anyone used a controller yet?  How do the controls work, especially for movement, spell casting and targeting?  Is interacting with npcs and items affected?

If anyone has any info it would be much appreciated.

One other thing to note... It seems like a lot more skills can be put in the active button slot (what would be the equivalent of lmb)

If you create lvl 40 characters you can check which skills are available that way.   Life drain is one of them and with -recharge skills it goes off all the time.

6
I'm really happy with how tq plays on mobile now, apart from targeting as I hold an 11 inch tablet with both hands so I can't drag spells at all.

Having one or two active skills and hitting the nearest button is what I do as well.

My warlock was doing well with all bosses because she can heal so much from the life drain with the new explosive boost it gets at lvl 40.  The dragonian mage caught me out as we were exchanging ranged hits when my wife was talking to me about something fairly important!

7
Until the devs fix targeting for spells and ranged weapons I'm playing more with passive skills and those focused around me.

I must say I abandon a character if they die.   I save the gear I want to keep in storage and start a new character.   Just the way I chose to play.

Recently I've had some success with a Warlock build focused around the life drain and deathchill trees, using throwing weapons and bleed, blade honing and poison passives.

As a hybrid I'm going 2 str, 1 dex, 1 Int by choosing str on even number level ups and dex /Int on odd number level ups.

My character just got caught out by a mage dragonian and I'm about to start over but I'm thinking about using a Diviner build with tow, lucid dream and distort reality and the same 2/1/1 for stats.

In the description of Legendary Edition it also says this...

+ A note for all players who own the base version of Titan Quest: The DLCs mentioned here will also be released for purchase as additional content so that all fans can upgrade their game to fully enjoy all expansions!

And a YouTube video is up as well...  See it here.

Hi Everyone,

I've just seen that Titan Quest Legendary Edition (contains ALL DLCs) is now available for pre-registration on the Android Play Store.

Link to Google play store. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hg.titanquestedition

I've done further research and it is for both Android and IOS with a release date due to be 2nd February 2021

Enjoy!

Android/Console / Feedback to Handy Games
« on: 02 January 2021, 07:39:51 »
Hi,

I recently emailed Handy Games on a couple of things and got a reply, so I've emailed them again with feedback about the Android version.   I've copied the text of my email below...

If anyone else thinks these points are a good idea then I'd ask you also send an email asking the same thing.

If enough people ask then maybe we could get some action resolving these issues in game.   You can email to support@handy-games.com

Cheers,
John

Hi,

I've recently sent a couple of emails and appreciated the fact you replied.

So I have written a few observations below that would make the Android version a much better experience for players. These are the reasons android reviews mention clunky controls but you would never know what players mean by that unless we explain in detail.

1.  It is hard to effectively select the spell slots when in a hurry.  I repeatedly try to press for 'squall' or 'spell breaker' and 'miss' activating the spell.   Could the target area for spell buttons be a little larger so that we connect with our thumbs more consistently please?

2.  When trying to attack with the default weapon, either melee or ranged, it sometimes makes the player turn round and move in the wrong direction.  I think this is when there is something the player can interact with (like an item on the ground) underneath the default attack button.  This is very very frustrating.  Can the default attack button fully obscure players from interacting with anything underneath it?

I know I can turn off items being displayed but I find that annoying and never use it.  I prefer to filter by item quality rather than turn all items off.

3.  Wasted attacks are a huge frustration, especially with ranged attacks like arrows and staff.  By this I mean the arrow or staff attack that is always launched immediately when the previous arrow or staff attack lands on an enemy, even if the previous attack killed the target.  It results in a large amount of wasted arrows and staff blasts going over a corpse.   Could we introduce a mechanic that allows the player to auto target the next monster if the current target dies immediately upon hit, before the next arrow or staff blast is fired?

Characters should be able to see they killed the target and move on to the next one shouldn't they?

4.  Auto targeting dummies and inanimate objects.  My character should be intelligent enough to know he/she needs to hit the monsters and not the dummies or targets scattered around the environment...  Please stop my characters auto targeting inanimate objects as a priority when monsters should be targeted first.

5.  Attacking on slopes.   This is another frustration...  You can see the monster coming towards you and all the arrows you are fitting are burying themselves in the ground because the physics doesn't allow the player to fire uphill.  Please sort that out.

6.  Could we have an auto pick up loot button?  I mentioned earlier that I never use the turn items on/off display button on the left of screen.   I filter items by quality as a preference so I never miss seeing them drop.

Replacing this button with a 'pick up everything' button would be so much more useful!

Thanks for working on a great game and reading my feedback.

Cheers,
John Wedley

Android/Console / Re: Attributes in mobile version of TQ
« on: 30 December 2020, 18:38:18 »
I also emailed Handy Games about attributes and what they affect in the mobile version of the game.  I also asked if they could clarify because of the multitude of info on the Internet for various versions of TQ... Base game, AE,  Atlantis etc etc.  I had a reply today and I've copied that below...  I hope folks find this useful.

Thanks for your nice feedback!

You are right, the different versions are very confusing. The android version is based on the original release before the anniversary edition but I can't go into the details you are asking for, sorry.

Luckily we are working on bringing the current PC version of the game to mobile so everything should be up to date then.

Thank you for your patience!

Kind regards,
Support@handy-games.com

Thanks for that...  At least I know now how to plan characters based on original TQ.

Android/Console / Attributes in mobile version of TQ
« on: 29 December 2020, 20:06:23 »
Hi Everyone,

Long term tq player here both on pc (all expansions) and on Android.

I've tried searching for info on attributes for the android version of the game and it either isn't out there or it is swallowed up in all the info for the various versions, TQ, TQIT, AE, etc etc.

Does anyone know for certain if the android attributes and mechanics are 1) base tq,  2) AE or 3) redesigned for android.   Once I know what the attributes affect in android then I can plan character types and how I'll play them.

Cheers, John

I recently emailed handy games to ask about the expansions in mobile.... And got an email reply.

Hi, I'm loving the Titan Quest port to android but have to ask... Will we ever get the expansions Immortal Throne, Ragnarok and Atlantis? Cheers, John

Hey there,

And thank you for reaching out to us. We are indeed working to bring the DLCs to mobile, but this is quite the task to accomplish. So we sadly can’t promise anything at the moment, nor are we able to estimate exactly how long it will take us to do so.

Be assured we are trying our best and thank you for your patience!

Kind regards,
Support@handy-games.com
