TQ Fans Forum Layout Ideas

Ok, I tried to brainstorm some examplar forum tree. It's far from perfect, but it will change with your suggestions or corrections. I think it has to be as simple and effective as it can. This is just a sketch, just share your thoughts and let's make it together :)

Its  Great start, but what you mean by discussion on few topics ?

Also i think , fan patches can be removed, since most of community work is on some kind of mod, our already incluied on AE.

Corrected. I split this in new topic, since it wasn't on its place on the main one. Thanks for suggestion sauruz. Btw, how do i edit the first post and topic name, it says too much time has has passed?

Nice start Nargil66 :)

Here's my ideas regarding layout.  I've tried to simplify it overall by combining some sections and having sub categories as were appropriate.  There are some things I'm still not sure about though, noted with a question mark.. let me know your thoughts  :P

Also, haven't included the obvious sections like 'Introduce Yourself'; 'Off Topic etc.  I assume we'll be having these too?

Very nice work! You really went in-depth ;D
About the categories with questionmarks, i think we dont need multiplayer section for original game. But technical section is really good idea. Also the trading ones, i never trade with others, so i didnt thought of it. But maybe split trading section and add it to main TQIT and TQAE subforums?

@nargil66 i edited the post title, mhm not sure maybe its was some issue/ bug on forum post.

@Prosoro , i like how you put the topics , and i enjoyed the megara marketplace name !

Maybe we could do the rest about other titles ? it could add the fun factor! :)

Yeah, that's a very neat idea.  :)
Some names that come in my mind:
General Category or Discussions - Memphis Plaza/ Athens Square
Main Masteries thread - Guild Hall
Different Masteries threads - Warrior's Guild, Hunter's Guild, etc.
Builds and Guides - Spartan Camp/ Training Grounds
Mods - Artisan's Quarters
Challenges - Hall of Heroes
Modding Guides - Rhakotis Library
Foreign Section - Chang'an/City of Babylon
I donno about TQIT and TQAE categories tho.
Or maybe each main forum section can be connected to different Act from the game?
Edit: Archive section can be Realm of Hades :D

Last photo can't be seen. Also photobucket is not a friend of forums, so we will avoid using it for important things in future.

For the modification section it was..

Titan Quest Modifications –

Maps and the Editor (Dedicated section with Tutorials, Tips & Tricks, Old and New  Projects, Gallery, and perhaps a general discussion sub category)
Quest Modding (Dedicated section with more or less same categories as above)
Art Manager (Key info on how to set up etc, another general discussion forum here would be helpful I think)
Complete Mods (In place of ‘Big Modifications’, a dedicated section to all the existing mods with two main sub categories:
-World Modifications (eg; SoulVizier, Underlord, Lilith, D2Immortal etc)
-Mastery Modifications (eg; Paths, Masteries, Destinies etc)
Other Modifications (sub categories: Texture & Skin Modding / Difficulty Mods
Installation and Tools (Arc Explorer, How-to Install Guides etc)

@nargil66 Those are some fitting titles indeed, I like the Guild and Hall of Heroes ideas.

I do think we need to be careful with maintaining a clear, recognizable section list for the forums.  Adding flavor is kool, but imo I think it could get messy having this for every category.

Well, we can include both.
For example the masteries threads can be named "The Guild Hall: Titan Quest Masteries" and there will be no confusion i think.
Like in Taleworlds forums, mod section is called "The Caravanserai - Released Warband Mods"
Each section can be related to an area or a city from the game. I'll try making the idea more clear later.

Yes, mods do need to include the older ones and also the Fanpatch and spectre's patch.  I know most people have switched over to AE, but not everyone.  Some prefer the old game - I know defboy99 said he didn't like the AE so was sticking to his disc version for the time being and there was another member over on TQ.net who also didn't want to change.  Same for tools: we need the old TQDefiler, TQVault, TitanCalc, etc, if we can get them since some players will still be using them.

As for challenges I think it would be better if that's just a separate section since they can be played in either version.  Having them separate like this means having to update two leaderboards whereas under the old system we simply put (AE) against a toon using that version of the game and any which didn't have that were obviously using the disc version.  It also makes it easier for challengers to see how everyone is doing, rather than having to check two sections of the forum.

efko/nargil66, try www.imgur.com.  That works for posting pics here.  I started using it when I couldn't attach jgps as I used to over at TQ.net.

Looking good! Maybe it's better for start to make them the general way, like the Masteries board you made. Just add other subforums, to make the site look more complete. Fancy names are just details.
