DarkEdge's Thane Guide
« on: 13 August 2018, 15:33:15 »
The classes I will be covering is Storm & Warfare, there are two real possible builds for a Thane. (Thane – Stormcaller, Thane – Warrior)
*****Thane – Stormcaller*****
This Thane has learned how to harness the power of lightning & frost, their minds have been moulded into a powerfull weapon, able to halt even the strongest frontlines and destroy them.
The Thane Stormcaller hardly ever need to get blood on their hands, enemys normaly die a horrible death before they even get to touch the powerfull Thane Stormcaller.
Gear setup for Thane Stormcaller, you will mostly be focusing on -RECHARGE%, +COLD/Lightning%, Intelect, Staves.
Stats setup for Thane Stormcaller, you will mainly be focusing on Intelect, little bit of dexterity, some health/energy.

Thane Stormcaller Battle Plan:
STORMCALLER TREE:
Squal – This is a ranged AOE (Area of effect) spell, it does high amounts of cold/lightning damage also reduces enemy damage output and lowers enemy resitence, the best feature of this ability is to impair the aim for ranged enemys.
Lightning Bolt/Chain Lightning is best combined with Squall, cast it about 2-3 meters infront of a enemy group, then once the enemy responds and starts to charge towards the Thane SC, you will cast Lightning Bolt/Chain Lightning which produces a 1 sec stun and does a major amount of lightning damage, the enemy will receive extra lightning damage due to the resistence reduction from squall.
Thunderball/Concussive Blast is the next life saver/damage dealer for the Thane SC, this will be used in the same manner as (Squall – Lightning Bolt/Chain Lightning), only difference is that Thunderball/Concussive does slightly less damage but stun for a much longer duration, the idea is to STUN-LOCK enemys within the squall.
Wisp, this pet is majorly just used for the benefecial spell Eye of the Storm (EotS = +100% Elemental Damage and also produces Cold/Lightning resists 33%).
Then…
Heart of Frost, reduces enemy movement/attack speed and also gives a 52% cold damage increase.
Static Charge, gives a decent 15% chance of good lightning damage rettaliation with a +76% lightning damage bonus.
Storm Surge – This is another good skill with a 15% chance of either cold/lightning rettaliation with a 1.5 sec stun, provides time to escape in tight situations.
WARFARE TREE:
Warhorn/Doomhorn – This is yet another brilliant combat tool for the Thane Stormcaller, it allow for very long stun periods & gives a good life reduction, the idea is to use Warhorn & Squall together and before the enemy comes out of the stun period they will pretty much dead.
Ignore Pain – This just provides another 15% damage/pierce resist, good for damage reduction.
Battle Standard/Triumph – This is just another in the pinch tool, helps with reducing enemy melee damage when you need it most and also very usefull versus bosses.
Ancestral Horn – This is about as close as the Thane Stormcaller gets to melee, these guys are for taking down large groups of enemys & bosses, combined with Warhorn, lightning spells stun durations you will be able to destroy large groups of enemys without the slightess difficulty.
*****Thane – Warrior*****
This Thane has learned how to master the art of Duel Wielding & the power to infuse himself & his weapons with the magic powers of lightning & frost, the Thane Warriors focus is not on mellee damage based weapons but more weapons which further increase elemental damage.
The Thane Warrior is a blood thirsty machine with his duel-wield techniques. These warriors with their hardened body's surge with the power of the skies, frost/lightning, they are able to cut down groups of enemies and with the stun periods provided from Warhorn/ThunderBall(Concussive Blast)/Storm Surge it should provide plenty time to cut groups of enemies down before they can deliver enough if any damage.
Gear setup for Thane Warrior, you will mostly be focusing on Strength, Armor Absorption%/Armor bonus%, Fire & poison resists, Weapon will be mainly focused on +% Cold/Lightning Damage (Very often you find good axes with 20-30% cold/lightning damage mods).
Stats setup for Thane Warrior, you will mainly be focusing on Strenght, dexterity, some health.

Thane Warrior Battle Plan:
STORMCALLER TREE:
Squal – This is a ranged AOE (Area of effect) spell, the main function required from Squal for the Thane Warrior is reduced enemy damage output and lowered enemy resitence, the best feature of this ability is to impair the aim for ranged enemys.
Thunderball/Concussive Blast is the next life saver/damage dealer for the Thane Warrior, this will be used mainly for the stun duration, the idea is to STUN-LOCK enemys within the squall while dealing melee damage.
Wisp, this pet is majorly just used for the benefecial spell Eye of the Storm (EotS = +100% Elemental Damage and also produces Cold/Lightning resists 33%).
Then…
Heart of Frost, reduces enemy movement/attack speed (very handy in Melee situations) and also gives a 52% cold damage increase.
Static Charge, gives a decent 15% chance of good lightning damage rettaliation with a +76% lightning damage bonus.
Storm Surge – This is another important skill for the Thane Warrior, with a 15% chance of either cold/lightning rettaliation with a 1.5 sec stun, provides time to deal good mellee damage.
WARFARE TREE:
Warhorn/Doomhorn – This is yet another brilliant combat tool for the Thane Warrior, it allow for very long stun periods & gives a good life reduction, the idea is to use Warhorn & Squall together and before the enemy comes out of the stun period they will pretty much dead.
Ignore Pain – This just provides another 15% damage/pierce resist, good for damage reduction.
Battle Standard/Triumph – This is just another in the pinch tool, helps with reducing enemy melee damage when you need it most and also very useful versus bosses.
Onslaught – This will be your main attack method.
Battle Rage(12/12)/Crushing Blow(1/12)/Counter Attack(6/12), these are part of your dps boost in melee all with a 10% proc chance.
Duel Wield/Hew/Cross Cut/Tumult – All very important skills as they are your main duel wield damage dealers to handle groups.
Dodge Attack – Just another way to reduce damage, a attack dodged is damage reduced.
