Developer Discussions / Project Minerva
« on: 05 September 2021, 09:08:29 »
Heyyo

Recent news of an announced project from Grimlore Games has caused (renewed?) speculation and rumours of a possible Titan Quest 2.  Known as 'Project Minerva' we have little info about it, but there are some concept pieces revealed and, most compelling, a brief explanation of what the game is about:

"Project Minerva is an action role-playing game set in a picturesque, handcrafted, open world of antiquity that is threatened by creatures from Greek, Persian and Egyptian mythology"

Check out this Gamestar article, though it's in German so you'll need to use a translator if needed :)

New Projects / Re: Hamunaptra Mod - Development
« on: 03 July 2021, 06:10:49 »

Hey guys, greetings  :)

It's been a long long while since last I posted here and I want to first apologize for leaving you all in the dark..

So among the many questions I guess the biggest one is: Is this project still happening?!
Short answer - a resounding YES!

Between my last post and this a lot has happened, and due to professional commitments there hasn't been any updates
Hamunaptra has been a huge goal and passion of mine over the years and this hasn't changed - let me emphasize that it is very much alive and well!

Having said all that I do feel pretty guilty for leaving you guys high and dry, after all you help keep the momentum going.  For now all I will say is please be patient, you will be playing this sooner than you think, and later this year there will be some news about it  :D

Thank you for the support!

~ Prosoro

Great work and progress Sauruz  ;D I like the loading screen custom graphic, icing on the cake there!

I can see you're dilemma, indeed sometimes just making a start in one direction will quickly tell you whether its the right decision and you'll have an answer.

Regarding the questions though; for me the 'perfect' playthrough I'd have to say has always been going through the vanilla acts (incl Immortal Throne). If by throwing knives you mean the thrown weapons added with expac 2 personally I don't like/use them much but if anything I do appreciate the variety they add.

General Discussion / Titan Quest in 2020
« on: 11 March 2020, 00:13:32 »

Now that the beta for controller support is finally underway, attention should/might shift back to other aspects of TQ - be it optimisation and bug fixing (yes please), fresh new content, or more modern arpg additions etc.

Hard to say which but what are your thoughts on where the IP should go moving forward?

You didnt do anything ? It fixed by itself ?

Nope nothing, I did what I always do and clicked Run as Administrator for the Editor, loaded it up and clicked into my maps. Placed custom objects etc with no crash. Closed and re-opened a number of times to make sure and yeah it seemed fine *shrug*

Thanks man I hope yours works asap too. Atleast u can still run custom maps ingame right.

Corrupted link between game folders.. hmm how would I check that tho? Tools in the AM? I haven't changed anything ....apart from 2.9  ::)

Loaded up the Editor tonight and it's working fine!?? No idea why or what's changed but so far no crashes occur.  Saved and conducted a new build in the AM, but sadly clicking 'Play Custom Quest' still crashes to desktop.  (1 step forward 2 steps back?...sigh)

Hey man, any progress/news on these Editor problems? I'm still dead in the water with mine, can't do much at all  :-\

Woah so much salt in here lol

A good topic Sauruz, theres definitely been a lot that has happened to Titan Quest in the last year or so.. for better or worse.

My perspective is that the release of Atlantis, if nothing else, shows there is an interest in the franchise and therefore potential for future content.  Of course after reading that I'm sure many will instantly reply with something like "yeeeah but if the future of TQ means moar buggy/imbalanced/unoptimised content etc etc then no thanks.."

But the thing is; Really? who are you kidding? It's 2019 and we got an all new DLC for a beloved game that came out in 2006! That's some rare odds, like Revenant Plate rare.

And if there's a chance of something new in the new year, whatever form it may take, I can bet we'll all be there for it because it's TQ and we're fans. Ultimately, IMO we want to see this game continue.
I think the salt comes from people wanting the best and seeing something that falls short, and I get that for sure, but I guess I look at both the bad and the good.  It's always easy to point out the flaws in things, and @sauruz @botebote77 this is not targeting you guys, I just mean in general :J

Anyway, so now I guess you might be thinking "Okay Prosoro, what's the other side of the coin? Where are these good points eh?"

Well, the first is what I detailed above right - New content which means longevity, continued support and a potential future for TQ

As for Atlantis:

a) New locations (always welcome after playing the other acts for yknow - Years!)
b) New assets (As a modder this is awesome)
c) New gear and build potential (until recently I didn't realise that a great majority of these are broken/currently cannot drop ingame - but nonetheless! It's there and surely this will be fixed)
d) More attention on the game - Atlantis (and Ragnarok) helped to reach new players, grow the community, and inspire fresh mods
e) QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENTS (seriously, this DLC added a fair amount of these, some minor and others highly requested!)
f) Music lol (okay this one I only add to fill out the list but atleast for myself I thought the Atlantis OST was great and fit well with the ancient world vibe)
g) Of the Tinkerer (a single affix yet this one thing has a huge impact, and since it only drops in Atlantis there's incentive to play here)
h) Graphical enhancements (complain about fps and optimization if you want, but this imo is not only welcome but also quite necessary to keep up in 2019)

So yeah I believe it has been a good year for Titan Quest > overall < and I'm looking forward to 2020   8)

@Torstein159 Ive found a way to do it, and I intend to have selected legendaries and epics be socketable.  Granted you guys are talking base game and I'm talking in regards to my mod. Titanomachy is kinda difficult to place since it is built on top of the vanilla game and I'm not sure how much Sauruz wants to change the established fundamental systems (tho again that doesn't necessarily mean current systems are the best)

Regarding skills.. haha above debates are why Im not really gonna touch them at this stage.  In any case I havent played Titanomachy yet (cant wait!) so I dunno, wish I had more time to test
