Without his Bone Renamer tool this wouldn't be possible. Only 3 animations are done for now - run, idle and walk (replaces unarmed run). Took me half day to make the run one look decent, but I think it was worth it 8)
I won't post the tool here, that's up to koderkrazy.

I think you should refer to some Age of Empires game's cavalry animation( AoE2 is the best, i think). Fight enemies on a side, and all original animation still can be use( just make character turn upper body to a side, left or right).
I don't think turning on the horse is possible to make with the combiner. It all depends on already existing animations.
Closest animation to the age of Empires cavalry in TQ are the centaurs. I agree its the best looking, but I'm unable to combine it yet, without the spear/sword going through the horse head.
