New Projects / Re: Hamunaptra Mod - Development
« on: 11 February 2022, 07:39:29 »
As always, I disappear for some time, life takes over, TQ gets pushed to the side, etc.

That is, until I saw the new DLC was released. Yeah, I know, I'm late to the party, but still excited to play it. Installed it last night, spent some time pushing my character to the entry point, and finally started about an hour ago. Immediately, I remembered the forum, so wanted to check out if it was still up and running(glad to see you guys are all still here), and went to check some of the topics I've been posting on. Hamunaptra mod was a must see, and man... @Prosoro congratulations on everything, you deserve it. As I said, I've just started playing it, so haven't reached the Egypt part yet, but seeing the good news, I'm so excited to continue playing and finally see what you've been working on. Again, congrats man, I'll leave my impressions when I go through the whole thing  ;D

General Discussion / Re: Tips On Character Building
« on: 16 March 2020, 06:29:16 »
Well, yeah, it kinda does, but you still have to choose which mastery you're going to be prioritizing and how you distribute your skill/stat points. On top of that, end game gear is a big part of character building, you have to know what you're aiming for. That's where guides come quite handy - you don't have to follow them by heart, but they give you a good idea of end game possibilities and options.

Templar is Dream and Defense. Dream and Warfare is the Harbinger.

You're right, sorry, it was a long day, my brain was already asleep :D

Well, it comes down to personal preference, but from my experience, Dream is really good either combined with Warfare for a Templar, or with Hunting for a Haruspex(bow or spear). I haven't played any pet builds or casters so I can't speak for them, I mostly stick with melee builds in RPG's.

Conqueror is a really slow-start type of build. My first character where I really knew what was I doing was a Conqueror and I didn't start "having fun" with it untill mid-epic. In addition to this, as Medea stated, gear is a big "problem" for any first character, simply because it's your first character and you don't have a vault full of gear to choose from. Farming goes a long way in this game and recently I saw a really good quote from someone along these lines: playing with your first character isn't just playing for your character, it's playing for your gear vault.

To put this into perspective, my second character was a Templar, and by the time I got it up to, let's say lvl 40, it was a mean killing machine without any deaths because I had so many gear stashed up that I could do whatever I wanted with it. On my Conqueror it was always "okay, I need a new shield, time to farm for it". My Conqueror is currently lvl 72 with in-game time of 5 days and 15 hours and I'm still in Greece on Legendary difficulty, poking the Hydra in the face for a new shield drop.

As far as playstyle and how to build it, it really is up to you. Do you want a dualwield build, shield build, do you want a fast paced sword wielder, or a mace stun machine.

I went for shield and a weapon with at least average attack speed. I started with Warfare first, unlocked Onslaught, maxed it out, then moved to Defense and rushed Shield charge(I absolutely adore this skill, and even though some people say it isn't a good end-game skill, I'm still using it and will continue to do so). After that, similar to Medea, I just went for passive skills that compliment my play style(Weapon training and Armor handling are must-haves), but, because I'm a "face-tank" type of player, I maxed out Battle rage with it's tree, and added Battle standard at the end of Epic difficulty for good measure. As far as how to distribute your points, assess your situation. If for the past couple of levels you found yourself not dying much and killing everything with relative ease, up that mastery bar. If you feel you need a bit more attack power or defense to stay alive, pick a skill, and distribute points between that skill and the mastery bar. The only "rule" I would say you should follow is one skill at a time, if you try to develop several skills at the same time, you'll just get poor results. And don't be afraid to experiment, you can always respec points later if you don't like what you get.

Good luck and don't hesitate to ask about anything you need :)

Leave it, it gives the feeling of realism and nice contrast  :))

Vanilla hits the nostalgia strings hard, but I'd have to give a slighter edge to Immortal Throne, it just looks beautiful. Atlantis is kinda cool, but it doesn't catch the overall TQ vibe. Ragnarok... meh, I hate winter anyway, so no thanks  ;D

Updated the table/script for latest game version 2.8

To freeze time check/select [  x ]  the time row. To edit time double click on time value.

Just installed Atlantis today and got bummed out when I realized I couldn't use the old table, but then I saw this! Set time and potion stack are life savers. Thanks for the great work  :)

General Discussion / Re: Need audio editing program
« on: 24 July 2018, 01:46:10 »
You can never go wrong with Adobe Audition. I don't know how many versions are out right now, but IMO 3.0 is still the best. I dabble in music here and there, record some tracks and mix/master them myself and 3.0 has never failed me, plus it has a built in VST plugin manager, so you can download a VST pack of cool effects, load them into Adobe and ta-daaa, you basically have a ton of studio equipment equivalents in one handy program.

It took me a couple of months to really learn the program and everything you can do with it, but as far as simple editing goes, it shouldn't take you more than a couple of days to figure your way around, and if you already have some experience with editing programs, one day should be enough. If you want, I can send you some songs that are recorded and mixed in Adobe, so you can get an idea of the programs capabilities. Some of the people I worked with are professionals and they didn't have any objections to the quality of the tracks I sent them, or did with them(I should point out that I am, at best, an average "producer", but Adobe has so many different options and tricks - you can get studio quality sound on any crappy Pentium 4 machine).

I'm down for the beta too :)

Socket everything with relics/charms to up your resistances and some other things(never played a caster, someone will tell you what to look for) and you're good to go. For someone who is constantly saying "I'm bad at this game", dude, you got to Hades with really, really bad resistances. The key thing when it comes to TQ is, as far as I'm concerned, sticking with your character. I started really having fun with my Conqueror around Act 2 Epic, up until then I was mostly just looking to stay alive; right now I'm in Act 5 Epic and I'm steamrolling through it. Oh yeah, farming is NEVER a bad idea. Good luck :D

Quests / Re: Primrose Passage Secret Quest
« on: 16 July 2018, 21:02:46 »
So, I got to Primrose passage on Epic, went in, cleared it(nice design, Laser raptors are hilarious) but I only got two blue items at the end. Has anyone done more runs, is it a good farming spot, or just skip it and stay with Secret passage/Hades/Hydra? Also, any good suggestions for farming spots in Act V?
