Title: Does weapon Pierce damage "dubble dip" +% Total damage?
Post by: GoatBoatToad on 21 July 2021, 14:46:46
Hello!

Can someone confirm this for me, if I am right or wrong.

Example:
I have a spear with 100 damage and 25% pierce ratio and +100% total damage modifier.
+100% Total damage translates to +100% physical and +100% pierce damage.

-Spear does 100 physical * 2(100% physical modifier) = 200 physical damage
-Pierce ratio changes that to 150 physical and 50 pierce damage
-Pierce damage does 50 pierce * 2(100% pierce modifier) = 100 pierce damage

Is this correct? Do physical modifiers come before pierce ratio conversion and thus +% total damage affects pierce damage twice?

I am thinking about spears and psionic touch, because psionic beam as of now also reduces charge levels(-2 at 8 levels) for melee weapons, meaning you can do huge damage every other hit.

That is insane. I would psionic touch is as of now better far better than calculated strike for spears/bows. And on par with onslaught. It is +50% phyisical damage every hit vs +100% total damage every second hit.

With volley you can proc psionic touch two times in a single hit!!!!

Yes. That mechanic is one reason why the Haruspex was so good.
- And still is, even now that dimishing returns on DA and caps on dodge chances prevent them from having immortality on top.
