Large Projectiles?
« on: 12 December 2018, 14:16:50 »
I've recently started to mess around with modding this amazing game again and I have a question. Is there any way to give projectiles an actual size that affects the radius in which enemies get hit as the projectile travels through the air? For example, if I wanted to make a lightning ball that hit every enemy in a 3m radius as it traveled through the air, is it doable? Modding the "radius" of the projectile doesn't seem to do anything. Thanks for the help, even if it's just to confirm that it's not doable.

Interesting question.

In the example, I would use a wave skill to do it and call it a day.

Would the mesh of the projectile make a difference, even if invisible?

I had made a skill that throws a moderately big projectile and increasing the Scale proprety seemed good for me. Maybe is it related to the hitboxes bound to the meshes.

Thanks for the replies!

Hmm. I had tried increasing the scale and it makes the projectile look bigger but it doesn't seem to increase the hit box, which is what I'm looking to do. I was using an altered thunder ball by the way. It seems I either need to investigate altering the meshes or try the wave idea. I imagine the wave could give me the width of a lightning ball but not the depth. It would still be an improvement though.

Did you made sure that the mesh your projectile is using had a hitbox? It might be the reason, though it is just a wild guess.

Oh hey, I never looked at the effects/projectiles meshes in the Viewer before, since they are invisible. I toggled "hitboxes" in the view and viola, some of them have big hitboxes like projectilemesh-2.msh.

Cool, learn something new every day :)
