Yes, it does elemental damage which means you can pair it with either Earth, Dream or Storm quite easily.  It's like Dream in that it gives you str/int/dex/health.  I decided to pair it with Rogue though to have different damage types and I think using the mines, menhir walls and traps could be good fun.  I can also see Hunting possibly being a good match with fragments from Runemaster's Burning Weapons skill working nicely with Hunting's Scatter Shot.  Haven't tried that yet though.  Alternating between exploring the new expansion and trying out the new mastery and still playtesting on GD as well.

oldage, it's like Dream - you can use it for both.  It has an LMB skill tree Rune Weapon, Runic Mines skill tree , Menhir Walls and Guardian Stones.  The mines gives you a burning/freezing circle that explodes around you when foes touch them, menhir can be used to block and distract foes for a short time.  Haven't tried its synergy guardian stones yet, I'm not high enough up the mastery.  Also has a Thunder Strike skill tree and Explode/Burn passive which adds exploding fragments to successful weapon hits.  It has Rune: Feather to reduce the str requirement for weapons, Rune of Life for increased strength, energy, bleed and vitality resistance, Seal of Fate which adds more explosions, Absorb for use with shield or staff which absorbs energy, does energy leech and shield block recovery, Reckless Offence allows you to dual wield weapons and Energy Armour more damage absorbion and stun resist.

I suppose looking at the list it's slightly more melee than caster/ranged, but I can see several of the skills being useful for the latter as well.

I'm currently leveling up my Rune-Defence combo, I'll post my observations, when the char will be ready to show off.

You get some nice str requirement reductions with that combo Autentist.  Defense's Armour Handling on gear and shields, Runemaster's Rune: Feather on weapons.
