Introduction (:
« on: 07 July 2018, 19:26:47 »
Hello to everyone on the forum.

I got into TQ about 2-3 years ago, played for a couple of months, then my PC crashed or something like that, lost my progress and characters and never got back into it. Recently I saw the new DLC so I thought this is the perfect time to reinstall it; currently playing with a Conqueror lvl 52 in Epic and loving it, around the Boar snatcher area, doing some runs on him, trying to improve my resistances a bit and such, and maybe find some new items for my TQCollector. Looking forward to progressing, both with the game and on this forum; as far as I can see by skimming through some topics, there are a lot of helpful and friendly members :)

Welcome back to the game and to the forum.  :)  I certainly hope we are.  It was one of the trademarks of the old titan quest forum and I hope we continue their helpful tradition.  It was the advice and info I found there which really got me into the game.  Many of us came from there when the old site was suddenly shut down on us.  So yes, if you have a question or two or three feel free to ask and we'll do our best to help.

If you enjoy the game you might also want to have a look at Grim Dawn.  It's made by some of the same developers who made this game and the forum community is also welcoming and helpful.

Thanks for the welcome everyone.

@efko Oh, oh, odmah zemljaci na visokim pozicijama  ;D

@MedeaFleecestealer yeah, I already found a lot of useful info here for my current playthrough and some nice builds for a new character. Grim dawn looks great, I've seen some gameplay, but it would just take too much time to play both TQ and GD. Maybe in the future, right now I'll be happy with reaching the lvl cap with at least one character - but thanks for the suggestion. :)

Ah, yeah. I had a similar issue where my character was corrupted and stopped playing for a while. It's definitely a long game and just to lose a character, or all of them in your case. But glad to see you've returned to the game! Welcome to the forums!

Well, if you want to reach the level cap GD is a better option for that than TQAE.  Unless you do a massive amount of farming you won't come close to the level cap in TQAE which, without the Ragnarok expansion, is L75.  On a straight playthrough clearing all areas I usually finish around L60-61 so well short of the cap.  GD's level cap with the Ashes of Malmouth expansion is 100, but you gain XP quicker and can reach the cap about halfway through Act 4 Ultimate without any farming needed.

@MedeaFleecestealer Ah, I forgot to mention - TQ just suits me better, I love the mythology setting and the story, and now with the addition of Norse, I'm like a fish in water. Yeah, I know it's hard and takes time, but I like these kinda of games exactly because of that: great replay value and farming runs. Nothing beats the feeling of getting that long sought item. ^^ And, I yesterday found the TQCollector thread you started so I'm going for bragging rights on that side too, gotta find 'em all.  ;D

Ty @Typhon, glad to be here. :)

I get it.  I prefer the brighter setting of TQ myself, but I love both games.  I was attracted to TQ in the first place because of the mythology.  I took a leap of faith when there was a thread on the old forum announcing Grim Dawn was being made by one of the TQ designers and using the TQ engine and I've never regretted it.  Both are great for replay value; I'm always making new builds.

My thoughts exactly. Found out about GD via TQ engine connection and immediately thought: oooh, I'm gonna like this. I'll be trying it in the future for sure, but like I said, I just started with TQ again, so my main concern is getting my Conqueror through to legendary so I can farm with him and start making some other builds I haven't tried. Never played with Dream before, probably gonna go with Templar next.

I can understand that.  I've never stopped playing TQIT even though I was also getting into GD when that finally came out in early access in 2013.  I still do.  Some days I play one, then other days the other, depending on what I feel like.

Ty for the welcome.

It would certainly be nice to have a few more people from the Balkan area. Maybe in the future  :D
