The Xmax Hardcore Challenge

Coming in a bit early but I just killed Xmax Barmanu and hands are shaking lol.

Got a new PC (finally!) so I’m done with mobile. Saw a sale for the TQ bundle and had to grab it, and immediately started a new Theurgist on Xmax. Time to compete with the big boys and girls!

Will post screens tomorrow as I’m tired and need to go to sleep. Currently debating what to pick as a second mastery. Tempted to try to get the Specialist achievement but don’t want to risk losing the challenge over ego.

Decided to start a new Ritualist for this as I haven't tried the challenge for a while.  Keep running into 3-4 different enemy heroes which I don't remember happening before.  Having to be careful when I find those.

Yeah a lot has changed since the last version I played. There's this new like random event mechanic where a little camp spawns of some random mob type, and there's like a million enemies and at least 3 heroes in there. Had a few Tigerman ones where Jun Shan and Miao Miao hard aggro'd me, nervous times. Thankfully Soul Drain cheese is alive and well

Level 40 now, in Rhodes. Still a plain Theurgist. Probs will go Bone Charmer as I'm really liking the endgame look of a Transmutation bow wielder, but not sure yet

Update: Through the Immortal Throne and into Act V now. Hades was actually a breeze, but I of course had to go through a couple of Dactyls to get to him. They actually were fairly painless - i'm running a Caster build with max CDR so could essentially stun-lock them with Soul Drain. The most dangerous thing I found in Act 4 was the Fury/Keres random camps, as they spawn tonnes of Ancient Matriarchs which stack their % reduction to health shrieks.

Still Theurgist only - defs gonna go for the Specialist achievement, and then in Epic will open the second mastery (either Bone Charmer, Spellbinder, Diviner or Spiritualist - still not sure), as otherwise i'll run out of options for perk points by Act II  .

Haven't done Atlantis yet - will probs get to Glauberg and then go back to it as I don't want to get too overlevelled for it.

Normal complete! A couple of close calls in the final acts, one of them I anticipated (Loki x5 triggered Death Ward), one of them caught me completely by surprise:  the lightning rod things the Tritones General deploys!! 5 of them together nearly one shot me, Death Ward yet again coming in clutch.

Stayed Theurgist the whole time so nabbed the Specialist achievement too

Update: Act I Epic complete! Ran into Toxeus three bloody times, killed him twice, second time had to avoid him because he spawned in a random monster camp in the Athenian catacombs - my computer started to lag with all the enemies in the room, and I was not risking my run to fight a laggy Toxeus!
