Been a few years.. and got back to the game!
« on: 24 January 2026, 11:35:46 »
Hey,

Some oldies can remember me. Got bored of playing PS5 and got back my old laptop to play TQ again.. saw that even TQ2 released lol. Wondering tho if it's game is good as TQAE or not. However I'm ok with our good old TQAE tho.

TQ Vault is still downloadable for steam users? That was the only thing that I download for TQAE, which makes my game experience much more easier.

Thanks!

Also as far as I can remember, for best performance (that stuttering shit) I should go with Direct9.

Cannot remember graphic settings tho. Can you specify for best performance? Texture quality, shadow etc. It is about game tho, not my laptop.

There aren't any special settings. I just recommend set shadows to any value other than "Off," as this can cause visual bugs for some players.
You can also apply the "4GB Patch" (read about it on the Internet). This is especially important if you're playing with any modifications.

Nah I play hardcore/untwinked without any mods. Only AE, not ragnarok and further more dlcs.

Playing with direct 9 solved my performance prob completely. So it seems no need of changing any visual settings! I am good to go now! Oh man I really miss that game!

Welcome back.  :)

Titan Quest 2 is in early access; was released for that back in August.  Aim atm is for full release late this year, but of course that may change depending on how development goes.  Devs are doing fairly regular blogs and also listening to the feedback they're getting via the survey forms players can fill in, Steam forums and the official TQ discord.  We're keeping track of stuff here.

Atm it's looking pretty good.

Might not.  It's being made on UE5 so might struggle unless you turned some things down.

Console versions do have some problems from what I've read.  Some achievements not possible to get for example.

I don't care about achievements and never play with mods. If game is smooth and bugless like PC, I am ok with that.

Doubt it's completely bugless, but then no game is really.
