Some visual probs in certain areas..

I was running TQAER very smooth and troublefree a few years ago and just got back to the game and can't remember my old settings.. have some visual probs in some areas. Running it direct9. If I don't, game becomes laggy. My laptop is good enough. It's all about settings and game itself.

What are whole ideal settings for running the game smooth and in its best?

I think you'll just need to try changing something and see if it's better for you.  What areas are being affected?

Definitely caves. It's like.. black ground like sparkling and moving..
