For a Ritualist that mainly focuses on pets, what type of weapon and attribute distribution?

  • Attacking with Psionic Beam, i.e., should be using a staff.
    • Elemental staff: Scales off Intelligence, requires a ton of Intelligence. Not many ways of boosting the damage via mastery (only via Susceptibility?)
    • Vitality or Strength staff: Scales off Intelligence or Strength, but most of the items themselves still require a ton of Intelligence. More ways of boosting the damage via mastery (Lucid Dream/Strength of the Pack/Susceptibility?). Rare items, might not even find one?
  • Just holding a weapon with pet bonus (not trying to contribute attack damage at all)
    • Staff seems to be the only weapon type that can roll with pet bonus, will require a ton of Intelligence for the better ones
    • Ragnarok has some legendary weapons with pet bonuses. Requires Strength and Dexterity. Rare items, might not even find one? Not relevant before endgame?
  • Am I missing something? Is there a better way?

No particular one of these seems especially appealing to me and I wouldn't know what to pick and the different options would require quite different attribute allocation, so I probably have to decide on a route early and can't change my mind later.

What kind of weapon would you use on a Ritualist that is mainly focused on pets and what attribute distribution to go along with it?
