Most versatile mastery combinations?
« on: 04 May 2018, 10:12:31 »
I’m interested to know what the most versatile mastery combinations are. For example, mastery combinations that can be Legendary viable using melee, ranged, caster and/or pet builds.

What do you mean by most versatile? Legendary viability isn't something particularly hard to obtain, most or all of them can now have viable builds in AER without using ultra rare gear. Some underused combinations like magican or illusionist can go summoner since traps are pets. Battlemage and juggernaut can become half melee half physical caster since physical spells scale with str and %physical. Bleed and poison builds shouldn't be versatile and will need something to back up these damage types for when facing undead and constructs.

By "Versatile", max means masteries that can do pretty much any gameplay style.
Probably any combo can be legendary viable, it's all down to how you build them.

Conqueror for example, isn't versatile, since almost all skills and passives rely on melee weapons and shields.
Yes you can try but unlike other masteries, you really limit your skill range this way.

I think most are pretty versatile as long as they don't have skills and passives for specific weapons. Spirit isn't too bad since it only has one weapon skill and upgrade (compared to defense which has a ton of shield skills and passives)

Now I get it. Said illusionist can be melee, petmancer, caster (with poison) and maybe ranged with throwing weapons. Dragon hunter can be ranged and caster but also melee. Haruspex is like dragon hunter too
