Vornn has also seen off Egypt. Did a lot of exp grinding on the Dark Spirit Conduit, getting tantalisingly close to the final gears. I need the Weightless prefix from the Ritual Cleaver I upgraded to get the Int gears on, so all the gears will go on at Level 63. Closing in…

Epic Act III finished. I’m convinced that Spell Shock is the most useful spell in the game now. Gonna be hard to live without it after Vornn retires.

Update:

Act IV and Atlantis done. Just got the level to wear my Cleaver so all my other gears can go on too, bar a couple of pieces of jewellery.

The character is an offensive monster and quite tanky, and looks sick too (I took a strange risk to go for Wings of Carnus purely because they look cool, when there were plenty of better options lol).

However, Lightning Dash on mobile is super risky as it has a massive aggro range, and I had a close call in Act IV where it torpedoed me into a whole mob of Machae Archers around one of the generals in Hades’ Palace. Thankfully Squall->Soul Vortex annihilated them, but I’m a little nervous about the outcome of making the same mistake on Legendary now, will have to be more careful in the Palace next time round.

I think that doing deathless runs is just about taking it slow and being careful, it helps to know the danger spots in advance (certain boss moves, dactyls, certain random heroes etc), but if you're patient and don’t rush it’s not impossible.

Twinking definitely helps, but I try to offset the twinking benefit by doing weird builds (eg my hybrid gears Oracle) - I can confidently say I will never make a Conqueror aha. Maybe one day I’ll try a deathless self found but for the time being I’ve got too much cool gear from my previous farming to use to let it rot for longer. I’d also like to try to complete every Spirit class deathless, really become the Master of Spirits in my sig lol

Update:

Base game complete. The Typhon fight was a real, real struggle. The controls looked like they’d stuck at one point as he called the meteor strike and I thought I was done for… thankfully, they unstuck and I was able to move out the way at the last second.

This melee Oracle is definitely a lot weaker than the Warlock, but he’s still made it through, by the skin of his teeth. Acts VI and IV next.

Thanks Medea! Another update, and a big one, after another long bus trip 

Made it through Act IV and VI. A lot of stressful mob fights, given the build’s entire survivability comes from the 21% ADCtH on the Cleaver, there were a lot of encounters with Serpentoids, Coral Marksmen and Machae Archers that had my health bar skipping left and right like a metronome (along with my pulse!).

Onto the final act and then I can retire this stupid, painful hybrid lol

Final update:

And that’s a wrap. Vornn scrapes across the line, after a very, very difficult Act V. A lot of batterings from Jotuns and Eldjotuns, several near deaths and a few lucky Legendary drops, but this weird, melee hybrid Oracle has successfully completed the hardcore challenge.

Will take some time to theorycraft another character but I’ll certainly be back
