Close call, but ThirdDegree made it past the Chimeras. I was playing without sound and didn't have the gong to warn me when her health got down to 50. Happened to glance up and mash that R button like a madman.

Level 33 at the Babylon Outskirts, respecced everything to max the Mastery trees so I would know how many attribute points to spend in each thing to wear my future gear. Also picked up a lot of Dream-specific gear from my vault now that shes over 30. 85% twinked now, just waiting til 47 for that Eye of Reveries, and for a good amulet.

Does anyone know if/how Throwing Knives work with Psionic Touch? Can I throw a flurry of knives and spread EBD that way? Do I have to wait for my 3rd basic attack to prepare the burn, and then throw? Is it possible at all?

I think I'm going to try a different route, a Ritualist or Haruspex for this, since I hardly used Rogue for anything except the early levels.

So I took a break from the other one, and started ThirdDegree, who was initially meant to be just an attempt at finishing Normal with the Freddy Krueger build, but started Xmax and will officially put her ticket in for this challenge, since she just got past Triton's Ridge, and is moving onto the Minos Labyrinth, without any deaths!
Have to say, the real difference this time trying it, is a single point in Distortion Field, it gives me 8 seconds of basically immortality since the trash hordes cant really get past the flat absorption protection. 8 seconds is long enough to have maxed ToW sprint in and level the field, and using 1-0-12 Distortion Wave clears the stronger heroes in 1-2 hits. (Shadowmaw was 4 or 5, i dont remember)
Level 24 and ready to push onward!

Oh and very twinked, but only the Skyfire Pendant is really abnormal. The rest were just Tainted/Poisonous rings that made early levels faster, and self-found ____ of Recovery items.

Aw darn, this wouldve been a great place to post a zombie mage I fought to the right of Tegea's exit, by that lake. He was a Seer clearly, with ToC, Sands of Sleep, and he would periodically summon 2-3 Zombie Soldiers to fight with him. Super fun fight, I had to be careful how often I hit him with my maxed poison for fear of killing myself.

Not new to the expansion, but to AE is Shadowmaw a fire breathing hyena hero who randomly spawns in the cave in the Phocian Swamp.  If you thought dealing with Cyclops was hard wait until you run into him.  Being not that high a level when you find him it's quite difficult.  Advice is to equip a bow, potshot and retreat, doing this all the way out of the cave since his leash has been extended and he'll now chase you all the way to the entrance.  I hadn't run into him since installing the expansion and wondered if he'd been removed from the game as being too difficult, but he spawned for my Runesmith, giving her her first death when she tried to go toe-to-toe with him as an experiment to see how well she could cope.  She didn't.  So back to bow and potshotting which took time, but did succeed in the end.  :)

At least he's not quite related so can be avoided if you want.

Killing Shadow maw on Normal before leaving Greece is a Steam Achievement, and when my newest Xmax Dreamkiller saw 3 of him (but couldnt get credit due to mods) I cried a little. 10/12 distortion wave's EBD took all of them down in 4 waves each though, but shes super twinked too.

Do you have a copy of that list of old heroes? I want to see how many I recognize by name :)

Skills that are assignable to LMB are always more beneficial than Basic Attack.

This is the part I don't understand. As an extreme example, the Sylvan Nymph. Why would I want to resummon her, wasting energy, possibly losing a Mastery Shrine Ultimate Level pet, every single time she is off cooldown? What if I'm about to fight a boss and expect the current one to die soon? I'm putting myself in a bad position, losing that energy, and starting that cooldown, just because its on a button that I need to use to fight anything.
The Nymph is an extreme example, but the points stand for other skills. You are burning energy and starting cooldowns when you have little to no control over what enemy you're fighting next in any given horde.

Ok, these have always perplexed me. Obviously the skills that specifically say "set this to your left mouse button" should be there, but how are the rest determined? Are they just the ones that are available? Are all skills able to be bound to LMB but these are the "best"?
In cases where multiple from a mastery can be bound, how does one best choose which is better? what about choosing between standard basic attacks, or these skills? Does it affect how battles work? I don't want to waste a skill like Batter on a trash mob when a Hero is standing right there behind it, but I don't want to dive into a mob just so that Hero is the first thing I attack.

Swapped all points into Traps, leaving 1 in Envenom, 1 in Nightshade for the fun of it. Traps are maxed, working on Warfare, War Horn, and Battle Standard now at level 31, Hanging Gardens of Babylon.

Fun fact, using the version of the mod found on Steam Workshop, I was in fact able to finish the Sphinx quest with all multiplied statues and shrines.

Side note, I miss my Throwing Knife penetration chance  :'(


but the rebalance is needed.. throwing knife has been buffed enough.. we don't need another buff or we'll get those broken OP toons again

Honestly, I just want some form of wave-like AoE. Gas Bomb is all that's left, and the projectile can pass clear over the heads of incoming hordes.



Twinkle is level 24, halfway through the Minoan Labyrinth, very twinked (I think only 2 of her items are self-found so far) and playing AE:R

I'll throw my weight in, Sign up Twinkle, my newest Assassin, who will use Poison to get as far as Alastor, then switch to Traps+Standard for the remainder, throwing out Doom Horns and Flash Powder in the tough scrapes.
Side note, I miss my Throwing Knife penetration chance  :'(

Other side note, @MedeaFleecestealer the link to gasconron's tactics on the OP is pointing to byehost's dead site.

Killed Nessus, and currently have 8-3 in the Envenom Weapon tree, 6 in Weapon Training, two Tainted Rings, a Fibula of Guile, a Tainted Bow with Artemis Relic, and 2 ____ of Recovery armors. Everything else is trash I picked up.
Waiting for level 10 so I can use a nice Skeletal Dart item for super fast ranged poison application. Then I might just spec into Int for more energy, cooldown items, and cast time on my traps and such.

I think you're right, I know Telkine was one of them somewhere.

Side note, as I know minecraftforum does this: using some potential for single-post-count groups, like 42 (the meaning of life), 666 (the omen), etc. They only take a little extra effort to make, and can be fun to stumble across as the count increases. I'm not entirely sure if/how many special numbers there are to TQ, but it's a seed of a thought I'm planting.

Funny, this is actually my favorite Class, just because it relies 0% on stats. Since my pets/traps do all the damage, I can stand back and watch. All my pets died? I'm so far back that I can run off and recreate my army. Get some extra -%recharge and I'm trapmaster. Rebind my F7 key to Scroll Button on my mouse, my wolves go wherever I want them to. Its great for the Naked Hardcore Challenge, since I don't care about armor when I'm not in the fight. Get a good Puppetmaster's Staff with 6-7 energy regen, and suddenly there is no need for a potion ever again. It's quite relaxing, but Alastor Scourge of Acheron is the worst enemy I have to deal with. Enclosed space running for my life, or cheesing his room with traps for 20 minutes due to his pierce resists...

I think you are talking about armor handling, I was referring to Battle Awareness which gives a small armor boost and defensive ability. O0

See my second sentence about skin showing then, I wouldn't judge anyone for using abilities to toughen up!
