So the description of the Nightmare's "Master Mind" skill states that it applies to your other pets. However, I have noticed the "Master Mind" icon being displayed below my Character's name as well, implying that it is also affected by the buff.
Does anyone know if this is true in that your Character actually benefits from the buff directly, or whether the icon is there merely to indicate it's your pets that are being buffed?
Because if it's the former, then that skills is seriously good:
- + 135% health regen
- + 135% energy regen
- + 40% total damage

I did ask about this, think it was on the old forum, and the answer was no. Which is a bit odd since it's Nighmare that casts it so it should work on all its allies - which includes you.

Well, the description does mention specifically that it's a pet buff, so it makes sense not to work on the player. In fairness, I think it'd be a bit too strong if it did.
However, then the icon shouldn't be displayed on the player either, and the Nightmare should cast in on the player to begin with. Let's hope this is addressed in a later patch.

I guess the only way to tell is to check your stats in your character screen the next time it casts the skill.

Hmmm. I remember reading this in forums before that it did. Im not sure if it was in a build guide or a mechanics discussion so I'm not sure how accurate it was. But since the buff was affecting my status bar I've been playing all this time assuming that I got this buff.

no it doesn't.. i have a caster trapper dreamkiller.. I've checked this before

The skill applies to you, but the effect specifically buffs a person's pets.
So you get the skill, which strengthens your pets, and your pets also get the skill, but to them it's useless because they don't have any pets themselves. :)

so you basically mean if played on multilayer and you have nightmare mastermind, your allies' pets also get the buffs right? I've asked this question to someone before and his answer was yes

Yes, I think so, and it's easy to verify. If in multiplayer a player other than the Nightmare's owner has the icon, it works. Mayvbe that's what the otherwise useless icon-on-player is for to begin with.
Pets in general tend to provide massive advantages in co-op play, because a lot of pet synergies are character (other pet or player) buffs. These skills can seem mediocre in singleplayer because the buffs are often not that strong by themselves, and buffing other pets, even in larger parties, is rarely game changing. Factor in other players (and their pets) and the quantitative qualities suddenly become really significant. Moreover, if everyone picks other pets, the varried buffs stack. This "shared pethood" also makes part-time petmasters much more viable.
