Challenges (all versions of the game) / Re: The Purist Hardcore Challenge

I decided to start a character specifically for this thread. I've played a purist hardcore playstyle for a long time, but have never been able to finish epic without dying. I'm hoping that by providing updates on my progress here, I'll be less inclined to do something stupid. I'm following the rules outlined at the top of this thread, with two additional rules:
1) I have to dual wield once I'm able. This is just a playstyle preference - using a shield for a while would certainly be better, but dual wielding cyclops clubs will be too fun.
2) No throwing weapons. Also personal preference - I feel like throwing is too strong, and Ladon's Maw is so common it just makes me sad. The other aspect is that I think the artwork on a lot of the legendary swords is awesome, though there's a good chance I'll die before I see one
I decided to try a dual wielding assassin. I've never tried dual wielding in this game, and I usually play the thief/rogue/assassin role in other games, so it seems like a good idea. That said, Celeste the assassin started her journey today. I started rogue, with the idea of using envenom and eventually poison bombs to make levelling easy. It probably would have been easier to start with Warfare, but all good.
My first "farming" spot was the Medicines Waylaid quest brute. Just a few kills, but sometimes you get lucky with a nice Stone Hammer. No such luck today. Next stop was Nessus. I don't usually farm Nessus because she can be really annoying at low level, but this character didn't have any problems. I did ~8 kills to gain a level worth of xp, though no outrider's gear or blues to speak of. I moved on to the Poisoned Spring Deathweavers. I was hoping to find 2x Legtips here, but 12 runs later and no luck. I did find a Deathweaver helm and shield though, so it wasn't all for nothing
Outside Megara I ran into the first hero mob of this playthrough, and it was two of them!! :O
That was a bit scary, but not bad. Polyphemus was super easy, and I play to kill him ~10 times to see if I can find a cyclops club, or maybe the majestic chest will cough something up.
At this point I'm level 10, so far so good!
