I added support for new .TEX format to TQ.Texture.Extract
« on: 17 December 2021, 01:13:57 »
Hello Heroes!
The TL;DR is bellow.

I'm kinda new player of TQ, though I'm not new to ARPG. Started playing and looked for some builds... Dude, that build caclulator looks awful.
And now this new DLC has been released. So, I decided that it is a great oportunity to rewrite that old creepy calculator to something less scaring. I wanted to extract game textures and started looking around how to do this.
I've managed to extract all .arc files and get the .tex files. But for some reason some of the textures could not be opened.
Plus I saw some recent posts here of people having the same problem.

Sooooo...  I've decompiled the TQ.Texture.Extract, fixed the bug and compiled it back. It looks like those problematic files have .tex format of version 2, which has one extra byte in TEX header, which in turn caused the progam reading DDS header incorrectly.

TL;DR:
TQH has introduced a new version of *.tex files, that's why the old programs fail to open it. Here is link to the fixed version of TQ.Texture.Extract https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cx0FsFbJxEFDCb_aj6iRoU-GUnmS0vAz/view?usp=sharing

The fix is only for the extractor tool. I didn't need the other tools, though I assume they should still work, but I may be wrong. I dunno, maybe if some one finds a bug and post I here, I can give it a try. But I can't promise anything.

Have fun!

P.S.: Also no promises about the new calcualator. I'm a lazy butt and often drop my projects half way  :D
P.P.S: Dude, those capcha's drive me nuts. Btw, they are easy for robots actually.

Is there also a text to tga converter for the new file format?
tga is better than dds (quality loss + power of two limitation)

EDIT: TextureViewerExporter (in TQ_ModdingTools.zip)
